In a move that’s paving the way to progress, Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari, has unleashed a massive infrastructure spree in Uttar Pradesh, inaugurating and laying the foundation stones for an eye-watering Rs 14,142 crore worth of National Highway projects. The minister, known for his drive to accelerate India’s road network, has once again put the pedal to the metal in Rae Bareli and Jaunpur, leaving no stone unturned in the quest for connectivity and development.
Rae Bareli witnessed the grand kick-off with 8 National Highway projects totaling Rs 4,142 crore. The ceremony was a high-profile affair, with State Minister Dinesh Pratap Singh, Prayagraj MP Smt. Kesari Devi Patel, and a convoy of other dignitaries marking their presence. Gadkari highlighted the religious and historical significance of the regions benefitting from these projects, including Prayagraj, Rae Bareli, and Sultanpur. A whopping 424 km of roads are set to roll out, promising to stitch closer ties with the rest of the state and the country.
Not stopping for a breather, Gadkari then cruised into Jaunpur, laying the groundwork for 10 National Highway projects with a budget that hits the Rs 10,000 crore mark. The lineup of attendees shone just as brightly, with State Minister Girish Chandra Yadav and a host of MPs and MLAs in tow. The minister’s blueprint for Jaunpur includes 2 bypasses and a ring road, aimed at unclogging the city’s notorious traffic jams and fueling industrial growth.
Gadkari’s roadmap doesn’t just stop at easing commutes; it’s a holistic highway to development under the PM Gatishakti National Master Plan. The Prayagraj-Dohrighat Corridor Project, stretching across Prayagraj, Jaunpur, and Azamgarh, is a testament to this vision. Envisioned as a 4-lane conduit, this corridor will interlace Purvanchal Expressway with a network of highways, rail stations, and airports, promising a traffic-trouble-free future for the commercial hubs of Phulpur, Mungarabadpur, Machhilishahr, Jaunpur, and Azamgarh.
This infrastructural juggernaut is more than just a pathway; it’s a bridge to economic prosperity, promising a smoother ride for consumers, farmers, youths, and businessmen alike. With Gadkari at the wheel, Uttar Pradesh is on the fast track to development, and there’s no looking back in the rear-view mirror.
