At the Geneva International Motor Show 2024, BYD made waves with the European debut of its BYD Seal U DM-i, a PHEV D-Segment SUV. This marks the first time BYD’s innovative Super DM (Dual Model) Technology, designed for top-notch energy efficiency and ultra-low fuel consumption, has docked in Europe.

BYD, a global leader in new energy vehicles and power batteries, is showcasing the BYD Seal U DM-i at the Geneva International Motor Show. This elegant, plug-in hybrid SUV is the first in Europe to feature BYD’s advanced Super DM Technology, which emphasizes electric driving while maintaining energy efficiency and minimal fuel use.
The vehicle offers an efficient, accessible solution for daily travel and long journeys, eliminating the need to stop for charging. It combines the benefits of electric driving with the practicality of longer range and fuel efficiency, making it an ideal family car.
Drawing design inspiration from the ocean, the BYD Seal U DM-i features an “Ocean Aesthetics” design language, characterized by a distinctive X-shaped front, contoured bonnet, and integrated LED headlights. The interior boasts ocean-themed design elements, high-quality vegan leather upholstery, and a host of modern tech features like a 15.6” rotatable full LCD touchscreen and a premium Infinity sound system.
The vehicle’s generous dimensions ensure comfortable seating for five adults, with a spacious boot that expands from 552 to 1,440 litres. It comes with an array of standard equipment, including advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and BYD’s Super DM Technology for enhanced safety and energy efficiency.
The Super DM Technology integrates an efficient engine, an electric hybrid system, BYD’s Blade Battery, and an AC/DC On-board Charger, prioritizing electric drive for optimal efficiency. It also includes a high-power electric motor and a BYD Blade Battery with pulse heating technology.
In addition to its eco-friendly features, the BYD Seal U DM-i offers convenient fast DC charging and VTOL functionality, allowing external devices to be powered by the car battery during journeys.
