In a grand display of infrastructural commitment, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, marked a milestone in Haridwar, Uttarakhand, with the inauguration and foundation-laying ceremony of 30 National Highway projects, collectively valued at a whopping Rs 4,755 crore. The event was graced by a host of dignitaries, including Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, MP Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’, former Chief Minister and MP Tirath Singh Rawat, Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Kalpana Saini, MP Naresh Bansal, along with various Uttarakhand ministers, MPs, MLAs, officials, and other esteemed guests.
The highlight of the day’s events was the widening of the 2-lane paved shoulder from Lameri to Karnaprayag in Rudraprayag and Chamoli, along with the unveiling of the Dudhdhari elevated flyover in Haridwar. These projects promise to revolutionize transportation within the region, ensuring seamless connectivity from Rishikesh to the India-China border. Moreover, the Dudhdhari flyover is set to become a beacon of relief for the traffic-congested streets of Haridwar, making journeys to this and other religious sanctuaries more accessible than ever.
Gadkari’s initiative is not just a boon for the devout and tourists but also a catalyst for Uttarakhand’s accelerated growth. The laying of foundation stones for 28 additional projects spells a future where the state’s connectivity with neighboring regions will enhance, fostering economic and social prosperity. The Chardham pilgrims, in particular, are to benefit immensely, as these developments promise a smoother and more spiritual journey across the sacred routes.
As Haridwar prepares to embrace these monumental changes, the message is clear: the path to development and divinity has never been more direct, all thanks to the visionary efforts of Nitin Gadkari and his team.
