Nagpur, January 28, 2024: In a display of industrial might and entrepreneurial spirit, Nagpur has unfurled the inaugural ‘Khasdar Industrial Mahotsav – Advantage Vidarbha’, an event that’s more than just a business expo – it’s a festival of opportunities and innovation. The three-day extravaganza, spanning from January 27th to 29th, 2024, has turned the city into a buzzing hub of commerce and industry.
Under the auspices of the Association of Industrial Development (AID), over 250 exhibitors have flocked to showcase their prowess across 40 different business sectors, predominantly from the Vidarbha region. The gala was inaugurated by Union Minister for Road, Transport, and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, alongside a host of political and business luminaries including Deputy Chief Minister Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, and other key ministers.
Ashish Harshraj Kale, President of AID, enthused about the vision of ‘Advantage Vidarbha’, emphasizing it as more than an industrial expo, but a beacon leading India towards self-reliance, particularly through the ‘Made in Vidarbha’ initiative. He lauded Nitin Gadkari’s role in turning this vision into a tangible reality.
The expo not only serves as a platform for showcasing Vidarbha’s industrial capabilities but also marks a significant step in the region’s march towards becoming an industrial powerhouse in Maharashtra. The event witnessed over 20 senior political figures, affirming their support for elevating Vidarbha’s industrial profile.
In a land rich with minerals and burgeoning infrastructure, Vidarbha is also making strides in the tourism sector, with its diverse landscape encompassing 11 districts, each with unique offerings. The region’s potential for investment in various sectors was highlighted, particularly noting its rich biodiversity and wildlife parks.
A highlight of the event was the signing of over 25 MOUs between angel investors and budding startups, demonstrating the region’s commitment to nurturing young talent and innovative businesses. Prominent investors, including major conglomerates, pledged not just financial support but mentorship to these startups.
This event underscores Maharashtra’s role as a startup hub, contributing significantly to India’s entrepreneurial landscape. ‘Advantage Vidarbha’ isn’t just an event; it’s a catalyst for the growth of industries and startups, especially in the region’s tier 2 and 3 cities, heralding a new era of industrial and entrepreneurial development in Nagpur and beyond.
