Milton Keynes, January 11, 2024 – SEAT is celebrating four decades of the Ibiza, its flagship model, by launching a special “Anniversary” limited edition. This milestone marks the enduring success of a model that has seen over six million units sold across five generations since its debut in 1984.
The original SEAT Ibiza, named after the famed Spanish island, was a pivotal model for the company. It was the first car SEAT developed independently, leveraging internal resources and collaborating with notable partners like Giorgetto Giugiaro for exterior design, Karmann for interior design, and Porsche for the powertrain.
The Ibiza quickly set new standards in the automotive market and played a crucial role in establishing SEAT’s global presence. SEAT’s CEO, Wayne Griffiths, remarked on the model’s significant impact, stating, “The Ibiza’s success was so profound that in some regions, the car was recognized even before the brand itself. Today, SEAT boasts the strongest product lineup in its history, and our sales have surged by 24% in 2023, with 288,400 cars delivered.”
The Anniversary Limited Edition of the SEAT Ibiza will showcase a series of exclusive features. The exterior is adorned in a unique Graphene Grey color, complemented by 18” Cosmo Grey alloy wheels and a distinctive “Anniversary Limited Edition” lasered logo on the B-pillar. The interior receives a fresh makeover with exclusive textile Bucket seats, enhancing both comfort and style. Additionally, a new Dark aluminium matt finish is applied to the doors and console, accompanied by a lasered “Anniversary Limited Edition” logo on the doorstep.
SEAT plans to release the Ibiza Anniversary Limited Edition in the UK starting from the first quarter of 2024. This launch not only celebrates a significant milestone for the Ibiza but also reinforces SEAT’s commitment to innovation and excellence in the automotive industry.
