Ford Middle East & DB Schenker Launch Major Parts Distribution Center in Dubai

January 4, 2024 – Dubai, UAE: Ford Middle East, in collaboration with logistics giant DB Schenker, has initiated the construction of a new Parts Distribution Center (PDC) in the Dubai Logistics District, a segment of Dubai World Central. This development marks a significant step in enhancing the automotive parts supply chain in the region.

Spanning an impressive 41,792 square meters, the facility is designed to centralize storage and distribution operations, aiming to optimize inventory management, improve parts availability, and elevate customer service standards. The center is scheduled to begin its operations in January 2025.

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by key figures including Ravi Ravichandran, the newly appointed President of Ford Middle East, and Ako Djaf, Vice President of DB Schenker for the Middle East and Africa. The event also saw participation from senior leaders of Atlantic Warehousing DWC.

Ravichandran emphasized the strategic importance of the new PDC, stating, “This facility is not just a step towards enhancing our service capabilities in the Middle East, but it also reflects Ford’s ongoing commitment to the UAE and the broader region. We are poised to better meet the needs of our customers, thanks to the efficiencies and streamlined processes that this center will bring.”

Expressing gratitude for the collaborative effort, Ravichandran added, “Our partnership with DB Schenker and Dubai South is pivotal in elevating the customer experience, treating our customers like family.”

Ako Djaf highlighted the venture’s innovative aspect, remarking, “Partnering with Ford Middle East on this state-of-the-art distribution center underscores our dedication to bringing advanced and efficient solutions to the automotive supply chain. We are setting new benchmarks in operational efficiency and environmental stewardship, leveraging the latest technology and sustainable practices.”

The new PDC is a response to the growing demand for modernized automotive services in the region. Djaf further noted, “The center will significantly enhance our ability to distribute automotive spare parts rapidly and reliably, thereby boosting customer satisfaction and strengthening our relationship with Ford distributors and owners across the region.”

This joint venture is a testament to the evolving automotive landscape in the Middle East, promising to bring about improved service experiences for Ford customers and reinforcing the company’s position as a leader in the automotive industry.
