Hyundai Creta, Alcazar and Creta Electric Get New Lounge Editions With 11.6-Inch Rear Entertainment Screen

Gurugram: Hyundai Motor India Limited has introduced new Lounge Editions of the Creta, Alcazar and Creta Electric, adding an 11.6-inch rear-seat entertainment system, exclusive interior treatments and distinctive exterior styling to three of its SUV models.

The editions are aimed at customers seeking greater rear-seat comfort and connected entertainment, with Hyundai positioning the cabin experience closer to that of an executive lounge. The upgrades are largely centred on entertainment, seating ambience and visual differentiation rather than changes to the core mechanical package.

At the centre of the Lounge Edition package is a 29.46 cm, or 11.6-inch, Rear Seat Entertainment System that supports OTT content, video streaming, interactive gaming, phone mirroring and applications available through a certified app store.

The system is paired with the existing Bose premium eight-speaker audio system, which includes a front central speaker and subwoofer.

Hyundai has also introduced Lounge-specific interiors with silver-coloured inserts, a new seat design pattern, rear headrest cushions carrying Lounge branding and Moonwhite ambient lighting.

The exterior receives a darker visual treatment through black-finished components, while a new Golden Bronze exterior colour is being offered across the Lounge Edition range.

Commenting on the introduction, Amit Dhaundiyal, Head, Product Strategy & Planning, HMIL, said, “At Hyundai, we continuously strive to create products and experiences that resonate with the evolving aspirations of our customers. Customers today seek experiences that go beyond mobility, and the new Lounge Edition has been designed with this evolving aspiration in mind. From lounge-inspired interiors, engaging digital entertainment and on-the-go gaming experiences powered by rear seat entertainment, to distinctive styling enhancements, every element has been thoughtfully crafted to transform every journey into a more comfortable, connected and rewarding experience. The Lounge Edition reflects Hyundai’s commitment to delivering meaningful innovations and greater value across our SUV portfolio, and we are confident it will appeal to customers seeking a unique blend of luxury, comfort, entertainment and exclusivity in their everyday journeys.”

Hyundai Creta Lounge Edition

The Creta Lounge Edition is based on the King trims and will be offered with two powertrain combinations — the 1.5-litre MPi petrol engine with iVT and the 1.5-litre U2 CRDi diesel engine with automatic transmission.

Exterior changes include the new Golden Bronze colour, black-painted front and rear skid plates, black side-sill garnish, rear spoiler, roof rails, C-pillar garnish and ORVMs.

The SUV also receives 18-inch matte-black alloy wheels.

Inside, the Creta Lounge adds the 11.6-inch rear-seat entertainment system, silver-coloured interior inserts, Moonwhite ambient lighting, a new Lounge seat pattern and rear-seat headrest cushions with Lounge branding.

In effect, Hyundai is giving rear passengers more reasons to look at a screen — although, unlike the phone already in their hands, this one comes bolted to the car.

Hyundai Alcazar Lounge Edition

The Alcazar Lounge Edition receives the most substantial change of the three models, with Hyundai introducing an exclusive five-seater configuration intended to provide a more spacious rear-seat environment.

It is based on the Signature variant and will be available exclusively with the 1.5-litre U2 CRDi diesel engine paired with an automatic transmission.

The Alcazar Lounge also gets a voice-enabled smart panoramic sunroof and the same 11.6-inch Rear Seat Entertainment System.

Its exterior upgrades include the Golden Bronze paint option, black-finished front and rear skid plates, side-sill garnish, rear spoiler, roof rails and ORVMs, along with 18-inch black alloy wheels.

The cabin receives silver-coloured inserts, Moonwhite ambient lighting, a redesigned Lounge seat pattern and branded rear headrest cushions.

The five-seat layout is particularly significant because the Alcazar has traditionally been positioned around multi-row practicality. The Lounge Edition shifts the emphasis towards passenger space and comfort rather than simply maximising the number of seats.

Hyundai Creta Electric Lounge Edition

Hyundai has extended the Lounge treatment to its electric SUV as well.

The Creta Electric Lounge Edition is based on the Excellence Long Range variant with the Home Charger Option.

Its exterior changes mirror those of the combustion-engine Creta, including Golden Bronze paint, black front and rear skid plates, side-sill garnish, rear spoiler, roof rails, C-pillar garnish and ORVMs.

The electric model rides on 17-inch black aerodynamic alloy wheels.

Additional cabin equipment includes a dashcam and rear wireless charger, alongside the 11.6-inch Rear Seat Entertainment System, Lounge-specific interiors, silver-coloured inserts, Moonwhite ambient lighting, revised seat upholstery and a rear headrest cushion with Lounge branding.

Hyundai has not announced any mechanical changes to the Creta Electric as part of the Lounge package.

Focus Shifts to the Rear Seat

The introduction of the Lounge Editions reflects a broader move by carmakers to differentiate higher-end variants through cabin technology, entertainment and passenger-focused features rather than performance upgrades alone.

Rear-seat screens, wireless charging, ambient lighting and increasingly elaborate seating arrangements are becoming prominent tools for manufacturers trying to add a sense of luxury to mainstream SUVs.

For Hyundai, the Lounge Editions allow three existing models to address that demand without creating entirely new derivatives from the ground up. The Alcazar’s five-seat configuration is the clearest expression of that strategy, while the Creta and Creta Electric focus more heavily on added entertainment and visual differentiation.

With buyers increasingly judging premium vehicles as much by what happens inside the cabin as by what sits under the bonnet, Hyundai’s latest editions underline how the rear seat is becoming an important new battleground in India’s SUV market.
