Hyundai Slashes Entry Price of i20 to ₹5.99 Lakh, Adds Premium Features to Attract New-Age Hatchback Buyers

In a move that will make hatchback lovers smile and spreadsheets sigh in relief, Hyundai Motor India Limited has refreshed the pricing of its popular premium hatchback, the Hyundai i20, introducing a new starting price of ₹5.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The update strengthens the i20 line-up with enhanced value across key variants, making premium features a bit more middle-class friendly.

Announced from Gurugram on February 05, 2026, the revised pricing strategy aims to widen the i20’s appeal while keeping its trademark blend of sporty design, tech features, and everyday usability intact — like serving gourmet coffee at cutting-chai prices (well, almost).

Entry Variant, Not Entry-Level Feeling

The i20 Era, now priced at ₹5.99 lakh, is positioned as the new gateway into the i20 family — and Hyundai hasn’t treated it like a stripped-down guest room.

Key features include:

  • Six airbags as standard
  • Fully digital instrument cluster
  • Front and rear skid plates
  • Body-colour ORVMs and door handles
  • Type-C USB charger
  • Telescopic steering

In short, it’s an entry variant that didn’t skip its feature gym sessions.

Magna Duo: More Features, Still Value Packed

Hyundai has also repositioned the Magna Executive and Magna variants at:

  • Magna Executive – ₹6.74 lakh
  • Magna – ₹6.99 lakh

The Magna Executive adds a generous tech-and-safety basket:

  • Fully digital cluster
  • Shark fin antenna
  • Highline TPMS
  • Automatic headlamps
  • Keyless entry
  • Electrically adjustable ORVMs
  • Steering-mounted audio & Bluetooth controls

Step into the Magna variant and the car starts showing off a bit more with:

  • Electric sunroof (hello, Instagram reels)
  • LED DRLs
  • Rear AC vents
  • Front armrest with storage

Basically, your daily commute just upgraded from “getting there” to “arriving properly.”

Big Screen, Small Add-On Price

For customers who believe screens should be large and bezels should be judged, Hyundai is offering a 25.55 cm (10.1-inch) touchscreen infotainment system as a Dealer Installed Option at ₹14,999.

It includes:

  • Wireless Apple CarPlay
  • Wireless Android Auto
  • Rear camera
  • 3-year warranty

That’s cheaper than many smartphones — and less distracting while driving (we hope).

What Hyundai Says

Commenting on the update, Sunil Moolchandani, National Sales Head, HMIL, said the i20 continues to set benchmarks in the premium hatchback segment with progressive design, dynamic performance, and advanced technology. With the new starting price, Hyundai aims to make the i20 experience more accessible and desirable while continuing its value-driven approach to mobility.

Corporate translation: more features, sharper pricing, fewer excuses to delay the upgrade.

A Hatchback With History

Over the past 15 years, the Hyundai i20 has built a strong base in India with over 1.47 million customers. Known for its sporty stance, refined interiors, and safety focus, the i20 has long been the hatchback that tries to behave like a small sedan — and sometimes like a hot hatch on weekends.

With this price refresh, Hyundai has effectively told the market: premium doesn’t always have to be pricey — sometimes it just needs better math.
