New Power, New Hooks: BMW’s Autumn 2025 Updates Bring More Horses and Handy Hangers

Munich, Germany — Autumn has arrived early in Bavaria, and BMW’s engineers have been busy blending horsepower with housekeeping. The brand has announced a set of powertrain upgrades, tech tweaks, and — quite literally — some hooks to keep things hanging nicely. While these updates roll out internationally this season, Indian enthusiasts will have to keep their calendars (and My BMW apps) handy to see when the changes hit local showrooms.

🔥 M340i Turns Up the Boost

The BMW M340i xDrive Sedan and Touring just got a little more impatient at traffic lights. Under the hood, the 3.0-litre straight-six now churns out 392 hp (288 kW) — an 18 hp jump — thanks in part to the mild-hybrid system’s 12 hp contribution. Torque is up by 40 Nm, bringing the total to a meaty 540 Nm. The result? A 0–100 km/h sprint in a sharp 4.3 seconds, which is fast enough to make even the Autobahn coffee spill.

🌿 A Splash of Cape York Green

BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé owners can now flex a fresh Cape York Green exterior shade — previously seen on bigger SUVs — available with M Sport trims. Subtle? Maybe not. Eye-catching? Absolutely.

🛋️ X3 Gets a Premium Touch

Inside the BMW X3, attention to detail goes up a notch. Models with Veganza or Merino upholstery now feature matching rear headrests and side sections in the same colour. In short: no more odd two-tone rear seats ruining your Instagram shots.

🧥 5 Series & i5 Get… Hooks. Yes, Hooks.

Sometimes the most practical features are the simplest. All BMW 5 Series, i5, and M5 models now get coat hooks on the B-pillar as standard. Perfect for business jackets, trench coats, or even that rain poncho you forgot to dry.

Charging Made Smarter (and More Global)

BMW’s My BMW app now features a revamped Charging Guide with easy tips like “How do I charge?” and “How do I optimise charging?”—because not everyone is born an EV guru.
Meanwhile, BMW Maps’ charge-optimised routing expands to Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Romania, Serbia, and Singapore, making pan-European EV road trips a little less stressful.

And What About India?

That’s the million-rupee question. Historically, BMW India has rolled out international updates with a modest delay — sometimes by a few months, depending on homologation and market strategy. Expect the M340i update to make waves first, given its popularity among performance-loving buyers, followed by tech and interior tweaks across the X3 and 5 Series range.

For now, Indian customers can keep refreshing their My BMW app and dealership WhatsApp groups. The hooks will arrive eventually.
