Gadkari Champions North East Highway Development in Strategic Review Meeting

Delhi, India – In a crucial meeting held in Delhi, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, assessed the progress of key National Highway projects across the North Eastern states, including Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, and Nagaland. The meeting brought together several state Chief Ministers and senior officials to discuss the timely completion of vital infrastructure initiatives aimed at enhancing regional connectivity and promoting economic growth.

Gadkari, accompanied by Union Ministers of State Ajay Tamta and Harsh Malhotra, along with Arunachal Pradesh’s Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Manipur’s Chief Minister N. Biren Singh, and Tripura’s Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, focused on the development of 15 National Highway projects covering 423 kilometers in Arunachal Pradesh, 38 projects spanning 808 kilometers in Manipur, and 16 projects extending over 324 kilometers in Tripura.

In a series of posts on social media platform X, Gadkari emphasized the importance of these infrastructure projects. He stated, “Our discussions centered on expediting development to ensure the timely completion of critical infrastructure, reinforcing our commitment to enhancing mobility and driving economic growth in the North-east region.”

For Arunachal Pradesh, he highlighted the transformative potential of advanced highway infrastructure, stating, “Revolutionizing Arunachal Pradesh’s highways under PM Modi’s visionary leadership is paving the way for a brighter future.”

Focusing on Manipur, Gadkari noted the ongoing progress of the 38 National Highway projects, asserting that this development is crucial not only for improving connectivity but also for bolstering the local economy. He stated, “Transforming Manipur’s highways will unlock growth and ensure seamless connectivity for a prosperous future.”

In his remarks regarding Tripura, the minister reinforced the need for sustainable and cost-efficient infrastructure development. He stressed, “Fast-tracking highway infrastructure in Tripura will significantly improve connectivity and integrate the North-east into the national growth framework.”

As the government pushes forward with these ambitious projects, Gadkari’s leadership appears to be pivotal in shaping the future of transportation and economic growth in India’s North Eastern states.
