Mahindra Racing Reveals High-Powered M11Electro, Aiming for Speed and Sustainability in Formula E Season 11

Banbury – Mahindra Racing has officially launched its latest Formula E car, the M11Electro, at a special event at its Banbury headquarters. The unveiling of this season’s car marks a leap in speed, technology, and environmental commitment as the team prepares for the 2024 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. With its signature metallic red, silver satin, and carbon black color scheme, the M11Electro is designed to be as visually captivating as it is powerful.

Under the sleek design lies a powerful new Mahindra Racing-developed powertrain, supported by advanced aerodynamics, suspension, and rear-end packages. This engineering enables the M11Electro to achieve acceleration rates 30% faster than Formula 1 cars, reaching 0-60 mph in just 1.82 seconds, and pushing top speeds of 200 mph, making it one of the fastest single-seaters in FIA history.

Season 11 will introduce new dynamics, including all-wheel drive during race starts and the “Duels,” adding fresh strategic layers to each race. Mahindra Racing has adapted to these updates, testing the car extensively with an impressive 500 kilometers per test day, ensuring reliability and readiness to meet the challenges ahead.

The M11Electro is equipped with high-grip Hankook tires, expected to improve on-track performance by 5-10%. This upgrade, paired with Mahindra Racing’s focus on sustainable innovation, highlights the team’s dedication to greener racing. Continuing its decade-long environmental mission, Mahindra is launching new sustainability initiatives this season, furthering its commitment to cleaner, faster, and eco-conscious racing.

Mahindra Racing CEO Frederic Bertrand spoke at the launch, highlighting the energy and innovation behind the M11Electro’s development. He shared his optimism for the new car, stating, “The M11Electro isn’t just a car—it’s the result of countless hours of development here in Banbury, bringing together advanced powertrain capabilities and strategic enhancements. We’re excited to see where it stands against competitors as we prepare for Valencia testing next month.”

Drivers Nyck de Vries and Edoardo Mortara are equally optimistic. For de Vries, Season 11 marks an evolution in Formula E, with the new GEN3 Evo car presenting fresh elements for racing strategy and vehicle performance. Mortara added that the car’s testing has been promising, and he looks forward to building on the team’s momentum from Season 10.

Mahindra Racing’s Season 11 begins with a 16-race calendar, starting on December 7, 2024, at the Anhembi Sambadrome in São Paulo, Brazil. With a blend of speed, technological advancements, and a sustainable outlook, Mahindra is ready to leave a lasting impact on this year’s Formula E season.
