Chennai: British luxury car manufacturer Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has inaugurated its redesigned showroom in Chennai, strengthening its presence in southern India as the company seeks to capitalise on growing demand for personalised luxury automobiles. The facility, officially inaugurated on October 15, 2026, introduces the brand’s latest global retail design and a dedicated space for clients to commission bespoke vehicles.
The inauguration was attended by Julian Jenkins, Director of Sales & Brand, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, during his wider regional visit. The development represents another step in the company’s long-standing relationship with India, a market that has played a distinctive role in Rolls-Royce’s history for more than a century.
The showroom is operated by KUN Exclusive, Rolls-Royce’s established retail partner in Chennai, which has served customers across southern India since 2013.
A New Chapter for Rolls-Royce in Southern India
The redesigned showroom reflects Rolls-Royce’s strategy of offering highly personalised retail experiences rather than functioning solely as a traditional vehicle display and sales facility.
Designed in accordance with the marque’s global visual identity, the space places greater emphasis on craftsmanship, individual expression and direct engagement with clients.
One of its most distinctive architectural features is an entrance inspired by the Rolls-Royce Pantheon Grille, the signature design element that has become synonymous with the company’s vehicles.
The showroom also incorporates a dedicated Bespoke Commissioning Atelier, where customers can explore individual specifications and personalised design possibilities for their vehicles.
For a brand where customers can spend considerable time deciding on the precise shade of a leather interior, the commissioning experience is understandably an important part of the purchase.
Complementing the Atelier is a Cabinet of Curiosities, featuring a curated selection of Indian art and design. The installation is intended to encourage creativity while incorporating elements of local culture into the international luxury brand’s retail environment.

Rolls-Royce Highlights India’s Century-Old Relationship with the Brand
Speaking at the inauguration, Julian Jenkins, Director of Sales & Brand, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, highlighted India’s historical importance to the British manufacturer.
“India occupies a unique place in the Rolls-Royce story. For more than a century, Indian patrons have commissioned some of the most remarkable and imaginative motor cars ever created, establishing a legacy of individuality and personal expression that continues to this day. Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Chennai has played an important role in serving clients across the region. This new space marks an important step for the marque and our clients, reflecting Rolls-Royce’s position as a true House of Luxury and our commitment to India. I am delighted to celebrate this milestone with the team.”
India’s association with Rolls-Royce dates back to the early years of the manufacturer, when wealthy Indian patrons commissioned individually specified automobiles that reflected their tastes, lifestyles and requirements.
The company continues to draw upon this heritage as it develops its contemporary Bespoke programme, allowing customers to personalise various aspects of their vehicles.
KUN Exclusive Marks More Than a Decade of Partnership
Vasanthi Bhupathi, Dealer Principal, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Chennai (KUN Exclusive), described the showroom’s transformation as an extension of the dealership’s relationship with the British manufacturer.
“For over a decade, our relationship with Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has been built on trust and a shared pursuit of excellence. This newly redesigned showroom reflects that remarkable journey: a space created around the ambitions of the clients we serve in Chennai and across southern India. We are incredibly proud to welcome them into an environment designed to inspire imagination, celebrate individuality and deliver an exceptional Bespoke client experience.”
The Chennai operation has been serving the regional market since 2013, providing Rolls-Royce with an established retail presence in one of India’s important metropolitan markets.
With the redesigned facility, the dealership aims to provide customers from Chennai and neighbouring regions with a dedicated environment for discussing and commissioning individually configured vehicles.
India Was Rolls-Royce’s Fastest-Growing Asia-Pacific Market in 2025
The showroom inauguration comes against the backdrop of improving business momentum for Rolls-Royce in India.
According to the company, India recorded the highest growth among its Asia-Pacific markets in 2025, underlining the country’s increasing importance to its regional operations.
Rolls-Royce has not disclosed sales figures or growth percentages in the showroom announcement, but the development signals continued investment in its Indian retail infrastructure.
The company is also experiencing growing demand globally for increasingly elaborate Bespoke commissions, with customers seeking greater individuality in the design and execution of their vehicles.
To support this demand, Rolls-Royce is expanding its Bespoke capabilities at the Home of Rolls-Royce in Goodwood, England, where its motor cars are manufactured.
Personalisation Takes Centre Stage
The Chennai showroom’s redesign reflects a broader shift in the ultra-luxury automotive sector, where the ownership experience increasingly extends beyond the vehicle itself.
For manufacturers such as Rolls-Royce, the ability to offer a highly individualised product and a corresponding level of personal service remains central to their relationship with customers.
Rather than announcing a new model or expanding its vehicle portfolio, the Chennai inauguration focuses on enhancing the environment in which customers interact with the brand and explore commissioning possibilities.
The opening also reinforces the importance of India’s affluent automotive market, particularly as international luxury manufacturers continue to develop their retail and customer experience networks.
For Rolls-Royce, whose association with Indian patrons stretches back more than a century, the redesigned Chennai showroom connects a long-established legacy of automotive personalisation with its contemporary ambitions in the country.
As demand for exclusivity and individual expression continues to influence the upper end of the automotive market, the facility represents another indication that luxury carmakers are investing not only in the vehicles they sell, but also in the experiences through which customers create them.
