Hyundai India Sales Rise 10.8% to Record 77,916 Units in September 2026

Gurugram: Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) recorded its highest-ever monthly total sales in September 2026, dispatching 77,916 vehicles across the domestic and export markets, an increase of 10.8% compared with the same month last year.

The September performance surpassed the company’s previous monthly sales record, achieved in July 2026, as both domestic sales and exports posted double-digit year-on-year growth.

Hyundai sold 57,166 vehicles in the Indian market during September, up 10.9% year-on-year. Exports stood at 20,750 units, registering growth of 10.4% over September 2025.

The figures indicate that Hyundai’s September growth was not dependent on one side of the business alone, with domestic demand and overseas shipments moving broadly in tandem — a useful balance for an automaker operating in a market where festive demand can make monthly sales charts particularly lively.

Commenting on September 2026 sales performance, Tarun Garg, MD & CEO – HMIL, said, “We are delighted to close September 2026 with our highest-ever total monthly sales of 77,916 units (domestic + exports), registering a healthy double-digit growth of 10.8% YoY. This number surpasses our previous record achieved in July 2026.The well-rounded growth across domestic and exports markets is a testament to the strong appeal of our product portfolio and our commitment to delivering world-class mobility solutions in India and across global markets. Going ahead, we are expecting sustained customer enthusiasm during the festive season, also supported by the opening of bookings for the Hyundai BAYON, our upcoming all-new nameplate for India.”

The company is now looking to the festive season to sustain customer interest in the domestic market. Hyundai has also opened bookings for the Hyundai Bayon, which the company describes as an upcoming all-new nameplate for India.

September’s record comes at an important period for India’s passenger vehicle industry, when manufacturers typically see increased showroom activity around the festive calendar. Hyundai’s simultaneous growth in domestic sales and exports provides the company with a strong start to this high-demand period.

With monthly volumes reaching a new peak and another model preparing to enter the Indian market, Hyundai’s performance in the coming months will indicate whether September’s record represents a festive-season high point or the beginning of a higher sales baseline for the automaker.
