2026 Škoda Kodiaq Arrives with ADAS, New Variants and More Luxury for Indian Buyers

Škoda Auto India has sharpened its luxury SUV game in India with the updated 2026 Kodiaq range, adding more technology, more premium touches and a stronger dose of sporty character to its flagship 4×4 SUV. In typical Škoda fashion, the Czech carmaker has wrapped practicality, luxury and performance into one rather large SUV package — now with even more personality depending on which variant buyers choose.

Priced from ₹36.99 lakh (ex-showroom), the refreshed Kodiaq lineup now comes in three distinct avatars — Lounge, Sportline and Selection L&K — each catering to different luxury SUV aspirations. Think of it as choosing between business class, business class with gym membership, and business class with a spa.

The biggest headline for 2026 is the addition of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) across the higher variants. Features such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Assist, Front Assist with automatic braking, Side Assist, Rear Traffic Alert and Exit Warning System now make the Kodiaq smarter and safer on Indian roads, where avoiding chaos is practically a superpower.

Speaking about the refreshed SUV lineup, Ashish Gupta, Brand Director of Škoda Auto India, highlighted that after a record-breaking 2025 and a strong start to 2026, the company wanted to make the Kodiaq even more appealing by offering a version suited to every luxury SUV buyer — whether they prioritise accessibility, sportiness or full-blown premium indulgence.

Kodiaq Lounge: Luxury Without Showing Off Too Much

The new Lounge variant acts as the entry point into the Kodiaq family, though “entry-level” feels slightly unfair when the SUV still offers a 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine, seven-speed DSG gearbox and all-wheel-drive system as standard.

Configured as a five-seater, the Lounge focuses heavily on practicality and comfort, featuring a massive 786-litre boot, Grey Suedia upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, three-zone climate control, acoustic insulation and Škoda’s clever steering-column-mounted gear selector.

In other words, it’s for buyers who want luxury SUV ownership without necessarily needing massage seats while buying vegetables.

Kodiaq Sportline: Motorsport DNA Meets Indian Highways

The Sportline variant continues to channel Škoda’s racing heritage with a more aggressive and dynamic personality. For 2026, it receives a substantial equipment boost, including the full ADAS suite along with features previously reserved for the top-end Selection L&K variant.

This means the Sportline now gets LED Matrix Headlamps, a 360-degree camera, Intelligent Park Assist and an illuminated front grille strip. The sporty vibe is further amplified with glossy black styling elements, aluminium pedals, black Suedia interiors and a three-spoke sports steering wheel.

It’s essentially the Kodiaq for people who want their school drop-offs to feel mildly like a rally stage.

Selection L&K: Peak Škoda Luxury

Sitting at the top of the range, the Selection L&K continues to represent the most luxurious Škoda on sale in India. Alongside the new ADAS package, the flagship trim features Cognac leather upholstery, ventilated and heated Ergo seats with massage function, power seat adjustment and signature Laurin & Klement detailing throughout the cabin.

While many luxury SUVs are designed mainly for city boulevards, the Kodiaq L&K still retains genuine 4×4 capability underneath all that leather and technology, making it equally comfortable at a five-star resort or a muddy weekend getaway.

Proven Performance Continues

Under the hood, the 2026 Kodiaq retains its familiar and proven 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine producing 150kW and 320Nm of torque. Power continues to be sent to all four wheels through a seven-speed DSG automatic transmission.

Built on the MQB37 platform, the SUV is assembled locally at Škoda Auto India’s manufacturing facility in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Maharashtra.

The Kodiaq also retains Škoda’s innovative Smart Dial system, combining rotary controls with integrated digital displays for easier management of climate settings, drive modes and seat functions — because sometimes physical buttons still deserve respect.

A Name Inspired by Bears, Built for Buyers

First launched in India in 2017, the Kodiaq established itself as Škoda’s premium seven-seat SUV and also introduced the brand’s now-famous SUV naming convention starting with “K” and ending with “Q” — later seen on the Kushaq and Kylaq.

Interestingly, the SUV takes its name from Alaska’s Kodiak archipelago and the mighty Kodiak bear, symbolising toughness and rugged capability. Which is fitting, because surviving Indian potholes may require similar survival instincts.

With the updated 2026 Kodiaq lineup, Škoda Auto India is clearly doubling down on premium SUVs by blending luxury, performance, practicality and advanced technology into one polished package. And unlike many luxury SUVs that forget they’re supposed to be useful, the Kodiaq still remembers it’s meant to carry families, luggage and occasionally, adventure too.
