New Delhi: The iconic SUV that once ruled Indian roads like a quiet conqueror is officially back in action. Renault India has kicked off nationwide deliveries of the all-new Renault Duster, marking the occasion with a ceremonial first handover by François Provost himself—because when the Duster returns, even the boss shows up with the keys.
The first customer, Chennai-based doctor Dr. Arthanari Manickavasagam, received his new Duster in a moment that blended automotive excitement with a dash of celebrity treatment. Joining the occasion was Stephane Deblaise, making it a full house of Renault leadership for a milestone that signals the brand’s renewed push in India.
Adding more flair to the day, Renault also inaugurated its second new’R store in Chennai, located on the bustling Mount Road. Spread across 4,500 sq. ft., this urban retail space isn’t just a showroom—it’s an experience hub where customers can browse, interact, and maybe even fall in love with up to five Renault models under one roof. Think of it as a boutique for cars, minus the intimidating price tags (well, mostly).
This Chennai outlet also holds bragging rights as the city that hosted India’s first-ever new’R store and now the first delivery of the new Duster—clearly, the city has a soft corner for Renault’s comeback kid.
Renault’s retail ambitions are equally ambitious. With 11 new’R stores already operational, the company plans to ramp this number up to 70 outlets across India within the year, complementing its existing network of over 350 sales touchpoints. In short, Renault wants to make sure the Duster is never too far away—whether you’re in a metro or a mid-sized town.
A pioneer of the mid-size SUV segment in India, the Duster’s return comes at a time when Renault India is enjoying strong momentum. The company reported a robust 77% growth in March 2026, powered by models like the Kiger and Triber, alongside the buzz surrounding the new Duster.
To sweeten the ownership experience, Renault is also offering its Renault Forever program, which extends coverage up to 7 years or 150,000 km—because long-term relationships aren’t just for people anymore.
With deliveries now underway, the new Duster is once again ready to tackle Indian roads, potholes, and weekend getaways alike. And if history is anything to go by, it might just reclaim its throne—dust and all.
