New Delhi: Kia India has crossed a significant digital milestone, surpassing 1 lakh paid subscription renewals for its connected car platform, Kia Connect. In a world where even refrigerators are getting smarter, Kia’s customers seem perfectly happy letting their cars join the tech party—and paying for it too.
The company revealed that over 30% of customers are opting to renew their Kia Connect subscriptions even after the complimentary three-year period expires. That’s a strong vote of confidence in an era where most subscriptions are cancelled faster than free trial reminders.
Globally, Kia continues to maintain an impressive ~97%+ enrolment rate for its connected services, underlining the growing importance of digital ecosystems in modern vehicles. Clearly, cars today aren’t just about horsepower anymore—they’re about bandwidth, updates, and occasionally asking Alexa to lock your doors.
Commenting on the milestone, Atul Sood, Senior Vice President – Sales & Marketing, said the achievement reflects rising customer trust and the everyday practicality of connected features. He emphasized that users are increasingly integrating these technologies into their daily driving routines, rather than treating them as optional add-ons.
Since its debut in 2019 as UVO, Kia Connect has evolved into a comprehensive digital ecosystem. The platform now boasts over 100 features spanning navigation, remote control, convenience, vehicle management, and safety. Over the years, Kia has introduced innovations such as smartwatch connectivity, Alexa voice integration, OTA updates, and the advanced Kia Connect 2.0 system—essentially turning the car into a rolling smart device.
Features like the Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (CCNC), Digital Key, remote diagnostics, and multilingual voice recognition are designed to make driving more intuitive and secure. In simpler terms, your car now knows more about itself than most of us do.
The strong renewal momentum is largely driven by practical, everyday benefits—remote access, real-time vehicle diagnostics, predictive alerts, and enhanced safety features. These aren’t just fancy tech buzzwords anymore; they’re becoming essential tools for modern car owners who expect their vehicles to be as responsive as their smartphones.
Kia India is also reinforcing customer engagement through initiatives like Drive Green, promoting sustainable driving habits, and the Kia Inspiring Drive (K.I.D.) Program, which focuses on enhancing brand interaction through curated experiences.
Having already surpassed 5 lakh connected car sales in India, Kia is clearly betting big on a future where connectivity is no longer a luxury but a necessity. And if this trend continues, the next big question for car buyers might not be mileage or engine size—but whether the car supports the latest software update.
In the rapidly evolving automotive landscape, Kia India’s milestone highlights a simple truth: the smartest cars are no longer just driven—they’re experienced, updated, and occasionally… rebooted.
