New Delhi — If sales numbers were lap times, Kia India just clocked a personal best—and did it with enough confidence to leave competitors checking their mirrors.
The mass-premium automaker reported its highest-ever March sales at 29,112 units, marking a healthy 14.5% year-on-year growth over March 2025. But Kia didn’t stop at a single-month celebration. The company also wrapped up Q1 2026 with its strongest-ever quarterly performance, retailing 84,316 units, up 11.6% compared to the same period last year.
Driving this impressive growth is a familiar trio—the Kia Seltos, Kia Sonet and Kia Carens—each playing its role like seasoned band members in a chart-topping hit.
At the front of the pack is the new Seltos, which continues to clock over 10,000 units monthly, powered by its bold design, tech-loaded cabin and a headline-grabbing 5-star Bharat NCAP safety rating—currently the highest among ICE vehicles tested. In simpler terms, it’s not just selling well; it’s doing so with a safety badge that Indian buyers increasingly demand.
Meanwhile, the Sonet keeps the compact SUV segment buzzing by democratizing convenience. With automatic transmission options now available across both petrol and diesel variants starting under ₹10 lakh, it ensures that city driving feels less like a workout and more like a breeze.
The Carens lineup, on the other hand, continues to appeal to families who want practicality with a touch of flair. With the addition of Clavis variants (both ICE and EV), along with premium GT-Line and X-Line trims and flexible 6-seater configurations, it’s quietly becoming the go-to for buyers who want space without sacrificing style.
Commenting on the milestone, Atul Sood, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Kia India, credited the brand’s consistent performance to sustained demand across its portfolio and evolving customer preferences. Translation: Kia is listening—and customers seem to like what they hear.
Beyond products, Kia India’s growth story is also backed by its expanding footprint. With 862 touchpoints across 390 cities and 124 certified pre-owned outlets, the brand is ensuring that whether you’re in a metro or a smaller town, there’s likely a Kia showroom not too far away—probably closer than your favorite chai spot.
What’s more, Kia’s journey from a new entrant to a trusted mobility partner in India has been unusually quick—almost like skipping traffic on an empty expressway. A sharp focus on safety, feature-rich offerings, and customer-centric upgrades has helped build strong brand loyalty and repeat buyers.
Looking ahead, Kia India plans to keep its foot firmly on the accelerator with new product launches and strategic expansion. If Q1 2026 is anything to go by, the road ahead looks less like a challenge and more like an open highway.
And in case you’re wondering—yes, the competition has officially been put on notice.
