BMW M Drift Academy 2026 Skids Into India’s Top Cities, Turning Everyday Drivers into Certified Drift Pilots

Gurugram: If your idea of “going straight” is slightly overrated, then good news has arrived with tyre smoke attached. BMW Group India has officially announced the return of its adrenaline-fuelled BMW M Drift Academy for 2026, and this time, it’s not just a comeback—it’s a nationwide drift tour.

Branded with the cheeky yet confident tagline “Time to be M-Azing,” the academy is expanding its high-octane footprint to four major cities—Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai and Delhi—bringing precision driving and sideways theatrics closer to enthusiasts across India.

At its core, the BMW M Drift Academy remains a rare playground where performance meets responsibility. Participants don’t just spin tyres—they learn to do it with finesse, control and a firm grip on safety, under BMW’s #DriftResponsibly philosophy. Because let’s be honest, drifting on public roads is a quick way to meet traffic police, not glory.

Speaking on the expansion, Hardeep Singh Brar, President and CEO of BMW Group India, highlighted the growing appetite for performance driving experiences in India. He noted that the academy is designed to deliver an unforgettable journey where adrenaline meets precision, and where mastering a drift becomes less of a stunt and more of an art form. In simpler terms, it’s where controlled chaos becomes a skill you can proudly put on your resume—well, almost.

The academy offers a two-day immersive experience featuring the iconic BMW M2 and BMW M4, machines that are practically engineered to go sideways with style. Participants will undergo a mix of classroom theory and hands-on track training, covering everything from throttle control and drift initiation to full-circle drifts and figure-eight transitions. Yes, it’s as technical as it sounds—and twice as fun.

Those who successfully complete the program will earn the coveted “Drift Pilot – Red Badge of Honour,” a title that sounds dangerously close to something out of a racing video game, but comes with very real bragging rights. It also lays the foundation for progressing toward the elite “Drift Marshal” status—because apparently, there’s always a higher level of sideways excellence to unlock.

The multi-city schedule kicks off in Bengaluru on April 4–5 at Manpho Convention Centre, followed by Hyderabad on April 11–12 at Prasad Multiplex, Chennai on April 18–19 at Island Ground, and wraps up in Delhi from May 1–3 at Container Depot Ground, Okhla. Each city promises the same recipe—burnt rubber, roaring engines and wide grins.

Participation comes at a price of ₹1 lakh, with registrations open through authorised BMW dealerships and DISTRICT by Zomato. Slots are limited, ensuring that each participant gets focused training—so if you’ve been dreaming of drifting like a pro, procrastination is not your friend here.

And just when you think the excitement ends with the track, BMW adds a cherry on top with the BMW M After Party. This is where the brand shifts gears from precision driving to pure celebration—complete with music, gourmet experiences, drift showcases and a community vibe that proves BMW M is as much a lifestyle as it is a performance badge.

In short, BMW isn’t just teaching India how to drift—it’s turning it into a culture. And if you’ve ever wanted to legally go sideways without consequences, now might be your perfect excuse.
