BMW India’s Record Run: Sheer Sales Pleasure Hits New Gear in India

BMW Group India has hit the accelerator hard this year — and clearly, there’s no looking in the rear-view mirror. The German marque posted its best-ever sales performance in India with 11,978 cars sold in the first nine months of 2025, marking a 13% year-on-year growth. The brand also logged its highest-ever Q3 car sales at 4,204 units (+21%), turbocharged by festive fervour, new GST benefits, and an unabated appetite for luxury.

If that wasn’t enough, BMW’s electric lineup continues to spark joy — quite literally. With 2,509 EVs sold, the company clocked an electrifying +246% surge, making it the number one choice of luxury EV buyers in India.

⚡ Electrifying the Luxury Lane

BMW Group India’s electric push has gone from “iWonder” to “iWow.” The iX1 has become the best-selling luxury EV, followed closely by the opulent i7 — proving that Indian buyers now like their luxury silent but swift. EVs now make up 21% of total BMW sales, and with over 5,000 electric deliveries till date, the brand’s charging ecosystem is keeping pace — spanning 6,000+ charging points across 51 cities, plus free home Wallbox chargers to keep your driveway electrified.

As BMW India President & CEO Mr. Hardeep Singh Brar quipped,

“Our order bank is strong, our customers are smiling, and our cars are flying off the showroom floors. The goal for 2025? End it like we started — with sheer sales pleasure.”

🚘 Long Wheelbase, Long Line of Customers

The long-wheelbase BMWs have been stretching expectations (and legroom) — with a +169% jump in sales. From the chauffeur-driven 7 Series that feels like a private jet to the new iX1 LWB that feels like one on charge, the ‘extra space’ strategy is clearly paying off. The 3 Series remains the best-selling BMW sedan, while the 7 Series continues to define boardroom-on-wheels luxury.

🏞️ SAVs Continue to Dominate the Terrain

When the going gets tough, the tough buy an SUV — or as BMW calls it, a Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV).
BMW’s SAV lineup clocked 7,040 units (+19%), accounting for nearly 59% of total car sales. The compact X1 remains the bestseller (and parking-friendly status symbol), while the flagship X7 is proving that size does indeed matter in luxury.

🏍️ MINI and Motorrad: The Compact & The Courageous

While the big Bimmers ruled the road, MINI delivered 468 units, driven by the Cooper S with its punchy +90% growth — proving that good things really do come in small, British-German packages.

On two wheels, BMW Motorrad sold 3,976 motorcycles, led by the G 310 RR in the “smart-cc” category and the mighty R 1300 GS / GSA among imports — perfect for those who think traffic lights are merely launch pads.

🏢 Retail.NEXT: The Future of BMW Showrooms

BMW’s new Retail.NEXT experience is rolling out across 56 facilities in 33 cities — a ₹365.6 crore transformation plan that’s making dealerships feel more like art galleries than car showrooms. Imagine espresso bars, digital configurators, and the faint scent of ambition in the air.

And yes, by the end of 2025, BMW plans to open 11 more touchpoints in 9 new cities, because apparently, “Sheer Driving Pleasure” needs sheer availability too.

💰 Financial Power, the BMW Way

With its ‘Smart Finance’ programme, BMW India Financial Services is making luxury ownership more accessible than ever — offering low EMIs, assured buybacks, and easy upgrades. It’s basically a subscription to joy — with four wheels and a kidney grille.

From record sales to record smiles, BMW Group India’s 2025 journey reads like a perfectly executed overtaking manoeuvre — smooth, confident, and utterly thrilling. As the festive season gains momentum, one thing is clear: BMW isn’t just selling cars; it’s selling happiness, horsepower, and a little extra legroom on the side.
