Throwing Limits Out the Window: Hyundai Cheers India’s 22-Medal Sprint to Glory at Para Athletics 2025

Gurugram — In a spectacular display of grit, grace and a touch of discus-throwing drama, the Indian contingent made history at the IndianOil World Para Athletics Championships 2025, clinching a record-shattering 22 medals (6 Gold, 9 Silver, 7 Bronze). Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) shifted into celebratory gear, applauding the athletes for putting India firmly on the global sporting map.

Among the shining stars was Yogesh Kathuniya, supported under Hyundai’s flagship ‘Samarth by Hyundai’ initiative, who hurled his way to Silver in the Discus Throw (F56) event. With precision that could make even an SUV’s parking sensor jealous, Yogesh’s performance added another glorious chapter to India’s para-athletic story.

“Winning 22 medals marks a watershed moment in India’s para-athletics journey,” said Mr. Tarun Garg, COO & Whole Time Director, HMIL. “Through Samarth by Hyundai, we’re proud to play a part in building a sporting ecosystem where opportunity meets determination — that’s when Progress for Humanity truly begins.”

Devendra Jhajharia, President of the Paralympic Committee of India, added, “This performance will inspire generations. Every medal is proof that limits live only in the mind — and initiatives like Samarth ensure those limits are smashed with world-class training and support.”

Beyond Yogesh, several other Samarth-backed athletes showcased incredible consistency, turning the championship into a festival of personal bests and podium finishes. Their performances were as reliable as a Hyundai powertrain — steady, strong, and built for big moments.

With this record-breaking medal haul, India didn’t just participate; it parked itself confidently in the winner’s circle — and Hyundai was right there, honking in celebration.
