From Croissants to Cost Cuts: Citroën Drops Prices Like They’re Hot

Affordable Mobility, Aspiration Amplified: Citroën Announces New Prices Across Revamped Range
To Pass on Full Benefit of GST Reduction to Customers

Chennai – Citroën India has found a new way to butter up its customers—by slicing car prices thinner than a French baguette. The automaker today announced that it will fully pass on the benefits of the recent GST reduction across its entire portfolio, effective 22nd September 2025, just in time for the festive season when wallets are traditionally open and laddoos are plentiful.

Price Cuts Worth Honking About

  • C3 and C3X: Up to ₹84,000 lower, starting at just ₹4.80 lakh (ex-showroom). That’s less than some high-end smartphones (if you buy too many at once).
  • Aircross SUV: Up to ₹50,000 lower across both 5- and 7-seater variants—ideal if you want to take along the entire mohalla.
  • Basalt and Basalt X: Now starting at ₹7.95 lakh (ex-showroom), featuring Citroën’s CARA# in-car assistant, which is like Alexa but with a French accent.
  • C5 Aircross SUV: Savings of nearly ₹2.7 lakh, with the Shine variant now at ₹37.32 lakh (ex-showroom). Enough savings to fund multiple Goa trips (before GST catches up elsewhere).

Official Word (No Lost in Translation)

Making the announcement, Kumar Priyesh, Director-Automotive Brands, Stellantis India, said:

“The reduction in GST on passenger vehicles is a welcome reform that will expand access to safe, modern, and efficient mobility across India. At Citroën, we remain committed to supporting this initiative by ensuring our customers enjoy the complete benefit of this reduction. By passing on the savings in full, we aim to make our vehicles more accessible across segments, while encouraging new buyers and accelerating adoption during the festive season.”

Festive Timing, Festive Savings

With Onam, Anant Chaturdashi, Navratri, Eid, and Diwali lined up, Citroën clearly wants to play Santa Claus in September. The timing couldn’t be better—India’s festive spirit plus lower car prices equals traffic jams with extra joie de vivre.

Disclaimer: Savings are based on revised GST rates. Actual benefits may vary depending on model, variant, and how enthusiastically your dealer waves his calculator.
