From Delhi to Dubai: Omega Seiki Powers Up with $25 Million EV Plant in Jafza

Because clean mobility shouldn’t need a passport stamp

NEW DELHI / DUBAI – Omega Seiki Mobility (OSM), India’s homegrown electric vehicle pioneer, has just shifted gears internationally with a $25 million investment (AED 92 million) to set up its very first overseas EV assembly plant in Dubai’s Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza). Think of it as India sending its EVs abroad—not on vacation, but on a long-term work visa.

The sprawling 42,000+ sq. ft. facility will soon be buzzing with electric two- and three-wheelers, alongside a steady stream of spare parts and components. Production is slated to begin by the end of 2025, creating over 100 jobs initially and giving Dubai yet another reason to call itself the ultimate global crossroads—this time for clean mobility.

Dubai as the Pit Stop to 2 Billion Consumers

Strategically parked in Jafza, the plant is positioned to serve over two billion potential customers across the Middle East and Africa. With the region’s EV market expected to hit a whopping $14.5 billion by 2029, the timing couldn’t be better.

“More manufacturers are steering toward Jafza to ride the wave of EV demand. Omega Seiki’s entry cements Dubai’s role as a global automotive hub,” said Abdulla Al Hashmi, COO, Parks & Zones, DP World GCC.

An Independence Day Drive

For OSM, the launch on India’s Independence Day added an extra spark. “This is a proud moment—Dubai offers unmatched connectivity and a business environment that fuels scale and sustainability. Through this facility, we want to make clean mobility truly global,” said Uday Narang, Founder and Chairman of Omega Seiki Mobility.

OSM isn’t putting all its batteries in one basket either. While EVs are the star of the show, the company plans to roll out CNG-powered models for select African markets, acknowledging that sometimes a bridge fuel is needed before the charging stations catch up.

The Vehicles in the Spotlight

OSM’s lineup includes the cargo-focused Rage+ and passenger carrier Stream—both boasting up to 270 km range, fast-charging, battery swapping, and IoT smarts for real-time tracking. With 20,000+ vehicles already plying Indian roads and a dealership network of 160+, the company is now using Dubai as its springboard into the world stage.
