New Delhi – In a move that could make “engine oil” a legitimate perfume choice for job interviews, Kia India has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Automotive Skill Development Council (ASDC) to turbocharge India’s automotive talent pool. The partnership aims to create a new generation of dealership-ready professionals—equal parts technically skilled and customer-experience savvy—through a 30-day immersive training program aligned with the Skill India Mission.
From Theory to Torque in Just a Month
The course is split into two perfectly balanced halves—15 days of core automotive theory at ASDC-certified centers, followed by 15 days of dealership reality, where participants will learn everything from handling EV queries to deciphering the subtle difference between a “test drive” and “test joyride.” Kia-specific training will ensure candidates understand the brand’s standards, systems, and product nuances before they’re handed a branded polo shirt and an official title.
Corporate Chatter on the Collaboration
“This collaboration is about shaping a future-ready workforce anchored in skill, quality, and care,” said Joonsu Cho, Chief Sales Officer, Kia India. “It’s not just about filling vacancies—it’s about filling them with people who can represent Kia’s values while making every customer’s journey a smooth ride, metaphorically and literally.”
A Win-Win for Youth & the Auto Industry
Graduates will not only leave with a certificate jointly signed by Kia India and ASDC but also a chance at direct recruitment into Kia’s Sales and Service roles. The initiative promises to boost employment, strengthen dealership networks, and raise the bar for customer service—making sure that future Kia customers will be greeted by professionals who know their EV charging ports from their cup holders.
If this works as planned, India’s next generation of auto professionals might just be the most skilled, certified, and charming salespeople to ever hand you a key fob.
