Mercedes-Benz India Gently Shifts Gears on Prices with a Two-Stage Tune-Up

Pune: In a move that blends German precision with Indian pragmatism, Mercedes-Benz India has announced a two-stage price correction for its model lineup, citing severe fluctuations in forex rates. But fear not, aspiring luxury car owners—this isn’t a turbocharged hike. It’s more of a mild cruise control adjustment.

Beginning June 1, 2025, and followed by a modest 1.5% increase from September 1, Mercedes-Benz India is recalibrating its pricing roadmap in response to the rupee’s recent slump—an almost 10% slide against the Euro in the past four months. The cost pressure from imported components and fully built units (CBUs) has finally nudged the brand to pass on a small slice of the inflation pie to customers.

“We’ve absorbed most of the financial shockwaves till now,” said Santosh Iyer, Managing Director & CEO of Mercedes-Benz India. “But even the best suspension can’t smooth out every bump. This price correction is a necessity—but we’re easing customers into it like a luxury seat recliner.”

The adjustment won’t leave your wallet hyperventilating. Prices will increase by up to ₹90,000 for a C-Class and could reach ₹12.2 lakh for the ultra-opulent Mercedes-Maybach S 680. Thankfully, innovative financing schemes from Mercedes-Benz Financial Services (MBFS)—like reduced EMIs and the popular STAR AGILITY partial ownership program—will ensure that buyers still enjoy the finer things in life without triggering a personal economic crisis.

In fact, for models like the GLA and GLC, the EMI bump will be less than ₹2,000—a cost some might consider more painful to skip a brunch than bear.

What’s more, this staggered pricing approach gives buyers breathing room to plan their purchase without feeling like they’re being caught in a surprise pit stop. Whether you’re gunning for a GLE or sliding into a sleek EQB, the brand promises that ownership will remain aspirational but attainable.

So if you’ve been dreaming of joining the three-pointed star club, consider this your polite nudge to make that move before September—because while luxury waits for no one, Mercedes-Benz is at least giving you a running start.
