Mumbai – Renault India has decided that car shopping in Mumbai should no longer be a dull affair involving lukewarm coffee and fluorescent lighting. Instead, it’s gone full Parisian-chic with the launch of Maharashtra’s first new’R store in Kandivali – and trust us, it’s not your uncle’s dusty dealership.
This isn’t just a showroom; it’s a declaration of intent. Under the bold new renault. rethink. strategy, the French automaker is giving its brand a full makeover. Imagine walking into a space where the cars are the celebrities, the lights are just right for selfies, and the chairs look suspiciously more comfortable than your couch at home. That’s new’R for you.

Sporting a stylish black façade and Renault’s updated logo, the new’R store is less “garage” and more “gallery.” Vehicles now take centre stage – literally – with a wide, open floorplan that allows visitors to ogle every curve of the latest Renaults from all angles. It’s the kind of place where even non-drivers might stop by “just to have a look.”
Speaking at the launch, Francisco Hidalgo, VP of Sales & Marketing, Renault India Operations, stated, “With our largest Design Centre outside France recently inaugurated in Chennai, and now this futuristic store in Mumbai, we’re not just selling cars—we’re reshaping how India sees Renault. We want our showrooms to be as exciting as the drive home.”
At around 2100 sq. ft., the Kandivali location is dressed to impress. Premium lounge seating? Check. Signature lighting? Très chic. Central 360-degree car display? You bet. There’s even space for three display models, separate consultation bays, and a lounge where you can ponder your next purchase while sipping on something that isn’t instant coffee.
Sanjay Thakker, Chairman and Founder of Group Landmark, who partnered on this stylish venture, couldn’t help but beam with pride: “This isn’t just about more cars—it’s about more class. We’re thrilled to partner with Renault as they accelerate into a stylish, tech-savvy future.”
Beyond showroom drama, Renault is also throwing in serious value: a standard 3-year/100,000 km warranty, an extended 7-year/unlimited km program, and the company has introduced government approved CNG retrofitment kit options to its vehicle lineup.
The new’R store opening isn’t just a new chapter—it’s the hardcover coffee table edition of Renault’s ambition in India. One store down, many more to come, and if this is the new face of car retail, we say: rethink away.
