Seal the Future: BYD India’s ₹41-Lakh Electric Sedan is Here to Shock, Soothe, and Speed Past Expectations

New Delhi: In a move that’s equal parts luxury, lightning, and lithium, BYD India has officially priced the 2025 model year BYD Seal electric sedan starting at ₹41,00,000 (ex-showroom) — and it’s not just flexing batteries, it’s flexing brains.

After making a splash in March 2024 with its debut, the Seal returns sleeker, smarter, and speedier than ever. While some cars whisper refinement, the Seal sprints to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds — which is about the time it takes to regret challenging it at a red light.

But it’s not all about blistering performance. The 2025 Seal introduces BYD’s Disus-C intelligent damping system and Frequency Selective Dampers, making your ride smoother than your playlist transitions. Think of it as cruise control with a PhD in comfort.

Under its fluidic surfboard-like silhouette lies a Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) Low Voltage Battery (LVB) — which BYD claims is six times lighter, five times more efficient, and probably a better multitasker than you. With a lifespan of 15 years, it’s basically the car battery equivalent of an ageless vampire.

There’s also a silver-plated dimming canopy — not a luxury yacht feature, we promise — which ensures the cabin always feels like golden hour. And yes, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard, because tangled wires are so 2018.

And in case the tech jargon didn’t wow you, the Seal is the world’s first car to offer both Cell-to-Body (CTB) integration and iTAC (Intelligent Torque Adaptation Control) — essentially meaning it’s not just smart, it’s borderline sentient.

As BYD continues its mission to dominate the Indian EV space, the Seal is both a promise and a provocation: to traditional luxury sedans, to combustion engines, and to anyone still doubting whether the electric future can be fast, fun, and fabulously premium.

Bottom Line: If James Bond went vegan and eco-conscious, this is what he’d drive.

ModelBattery CapacityPrice (₹)
BYD SEAL Dynamic (RWD)61.44 kWh₹41,00,000
BYD SEAL Premium (RWD)82.56 kWh₹45,70,000
BYD SEAL Performance (AWD)82.56 kWh₹53,15,000
