Marquardt Expands in India: New Talegaon Plant Boosts Innovation and Job Growth

Talegaon, India – In a significant move to strengthen its presence in India’s dynamic automotive market, mechatronics specialist Marquardt has inaugurated a new state-of-the-art production plant in Talegaon, near Pune. This expansion not only amplifies the company’s manufacturing capabilities but also underscores its commitment to India’s growing industrial landscape.

The new facility replaces Marquardt’s previous production site in Mumbai and represents an investment exceeding ₹180 crore in infrastructure, machinery, and equipment. The plant is designed to cater primarily to the Indian automotive industry, producing advanced mechatronic system solutions for leading vehicle manufacturers.

Driving Growth and Innovation

Björn Twiehaus, Chief Executive Officer of the Marquardt Group, highlighted India’s strategic importance:

Commitment to ‘Make in India’

Marquardt’s expansion aligns with India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative, emphasizing local manufacturing and job creation. Vishal Narvekar, General Manager of Marquardt India, stressed the facility’s significance:

“This milestone reinforces our dedication to providing world-class mechatronic solutions tailored for our Indian partners. By expanding locally, we’re fostering innovation, improving supply chains, and creating new employment opportunities.”

300 New Jobs and Advanced Manufacturing

The Talegaon plant is equipped with cutting-edge assembly lines, in-house electronics production, and modern logistics capabilities. This investment not only strengthens Marquardt’s supply chain but also enhances responsiveness and flexibility for customers. Over the next five years, the company plans to generate around 300 new jobs at the site.

Marquardt’s commitment to India spans decades, with its Pune development center employing over 450 engineers engaged in both local and global projects. The new Talegaon plant further reinforces Marquardt’s long-term dedication to the region.
