This figure comprises 54,003 domestic sales coupled with a robust export tally of 11,600 units, underscoring HMIL’s stature as a world-class manufacturing hub.
A standout contributor to this success is the all-new Hyundai Creta Electric. Launched at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 on January 17, the electric SUV has rapidly gained traction, propelling the Creta brand to achieve its highest ever domestic monthly sales of 18,522 units. The strong performance of the Hyundai Creta Electric is seen as a pivotal moment for the Indian electric vehicle market, promising to usher in a new era of smart, efficient mobility solutions.
Tarun Garg, Whole-time Director and Chief Operating Officer at Hyundai Motor India Limited, commented on the impressive sales figures:
“We have reinforced HMIL’s position as a world-class manufacturing hub by registering a 10.5% YoY growth in exports in January, driven by stable demand for our products in overseas markets. Domestically, our first indigenous electric SUV—the Hyundai Creta Electric—has started its journey with a bang. Its launch has not only bolstered the Creta brand to record domestic sales but also signified a paradigm shift in the electric SUV segment. Our commitment to developing a smart and efficient EV ecosystem will play a crucial role in mainstreaming electric vehicles in India while addressing range anxiety and expanding the country’s charging infrastructure.”
The surge in sales and the optimistic outlook for the Hyundai Creta Electric reflect HMIL’s strategic focus on innovation and quality, ensuring that the brand remains competitive both at home and abroad. With consistent investments in technology and infrastructure, HMIL is poised to further accelerate the growth of the electric vehicle segment in India, paving the way for a greener, more sustainable future.
