The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has wrapped up its Special Campaign for Disposal of Pending Matters (SCDPM) 4.0, held from October 2 to October 31, 2024, with impressive results. This campaign aimed at clearing backlogs, managing records, and promoting cleanliness saw the ministry meet 100% of its goals in various critical areas, including the disposal of 986 public grievances, 211 public grievance appeals, important cabinet proposal references, and a thorough review of 25,635 physical and electronic files.
Further achievements include the resolution of 95% of pending Member of Parliament references, with 555 out of 583 cases addressed. Additionally, 28 out of 53 parliamentary assurances were fulfilled during the campaign, marking significant progress in the ministry’s commitment to responsiveness and accountability. Revenue totaling ₹3,03,200 was generated from the disposal of scrap materials during this period.
In alignment with the national Swachhata Hi Seva movement, MoRTH and its agencies conducted extensive cleanliness drives across over 19,000 sites. These efforts covered a wide range of locations, including offices, construction sites, toll plazas, national highways, bus stops, roadside amenities, and dhabas. This cleanliness initiative reflects the ministry’s broader commitment to enhancing the environment along India’s roadways.
Daily reviews of campaign progress were conducted by the Nodal Officer of MoRTH, ensuring timely follow-ups with all associated agencies. Officers from MoRTH, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), and the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation (NHIDCL) participated actively, demonstrating a unified effort across the ministry.
The campaign’s successes were widely shared on social media platforms, including X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, and Facebook, helping raise public awareness and engagement in this milestone initiative.
