Genesis redefines luxury with cutting-edge tech, enhanced range, and first-class comfort in the latest Electrified G80
SEOUL — Genesis has officially launched its newly redesigned Electrified G80 in Korea, delivering a fresh look and advanced features that push the boundaries of luxury electric vehicles. Following a three-year hiatus since its debut in 2021, this new model boasts a longer wheelbase, a more refined interior, and impressive technological advancements aimed at elevating the driving experience.
Extended Elegance with a Touch of Athleticism
Sporting the signature Genesis design philosophy, “Athletic Elegance,” the Electrified G80 has been revamped with an elongated 3,140-millimeter wheelbase—130 millimeters longer than before—adding both presence and comfort. The front grille now features a more sophisticated G-Matrix Crest design, seamlessly integrating the charging port into the grille for a sleek aesthetic. New 19-inch exclusive wheels enhance both luxury and aerodynamic performance, while subtle chrome accents along the bumper add to the vehicle’s modern look.
With 10 striking color options, including the new “Matira Blue” and “Geneva Silver,” Genesis offers customization at its finest.
A High-Tech Haven Inside
Inside, the Electrified G80 offers a more spacious and luxurious cabin, thanks to the extended wheelbase, which gives rear passengers an additional 83 millimeters of legroom and 20 millimeters of headroom. A new 27-inch OLED display dominates the dashboard, offering a seamless blend of the infotainment system and navigation. High-tech controls extend to the touch-operated climate system and redesigned Shift By Wire (SBW) console, enhancing both convenience and style.
Further elevating the in-car experience, a 17-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system equipped with Dolby Atmos technology surrounds passengers in rich, immersive sound. Ambient lighting, redesigned trims, and premium materials complete the serene atmosphere inside the cabin.
Luxury Meets Technology for Rear Passengers
For the first time in the Genesis lineup, the Electrified G80 introduces Chauffeur Mode, which optimizes the suspension and braking systems for a smoother, more comfortable ride, especially for rear-seat passengers. With the EasyClose feature, rear passengers can now open and close their doors at the push of a button, while adjustable seats offer up to 14 different configurations for maximum relaxation during long trips. Genesis has thoughtfully included Connected-car Rear Cockpit (ccRC), allowing passengers to enjoy entertainment on the go.
Performance and Range: Next-Level EV Engineering
Equipped with a powerful 94.5-kilowatt per hour battery, the redesigned G80 now offers a remarkable range of up to 475 kilometers on a single charge. Enhanced driving dynamics come courtesy of upgrades like Road-Preview Electronic Control Suspension (Preview ECS) and Electric Dynamic Torque Vectoring (eDTVC), which ensure smooth, controlled handling through every corner. The new Rear Wheel Steering system further enhances maneuverability, even in tight spaces.
To add a unique auditory experience to the ride, the G80 features Electric Vehicle Active Sound Design (e-ASD), which includes two exclusive sound modes: “Horizon,” inspired by the cosmos, and “Heritage: Black,” which pays homage to the classic six-cylinder engine sound.
Safety and Convenience Features Galore
Genesis packed the Electrified G80 with advanced safety and convenience features, such as a Fingerprint Authentication System, Hands On Detection steering wheel, heated console armrests, and a Digital Key 2. The 3-Zone+ Climate Control ensures customized airflow for each passenger, while the Smart Washer Injection system reduces windshield clutter and noise for a more serene driving experience.
The new Electrified G80 represents a bold step forward in Genesis’ commitment to luxury, performance, and sustainability. As it hits the roads in Korea, the latest model sets a new standard for electric sedans worldwide.
