LOS OLIVOS, Calif. – Hyundai has launched its refreshed 2025 Ioniq 5 lineup, featuring an adventurous new variant, the Ioniq 5 XRT, designed for thrill-seekers and outdoor enthusiasts. This expanded range not only enhances driving range and innovative features but also marks the debut of production at the newly established Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA) in Georgia.
The 2025 Ioniq 5 models, including the rugged XRT, are set to hit Hyundai dealerships this fall. The XRT variant brings a bold, off-road-ready design along with advanced capabilities that are perfect for venturing into less-traveled terrain.
A standout feature of the updated Ioniq 5 is the integration of the Tesla North American Charging Standard (NACS) port, allowing seamless access to over 17,000 Tesla Superchargers without the need for an adapter. This development effectively doubles the DC fast-charging network for new Ioniq 5 customers. Furthermore, all new Hyundai electric vehicles will exclusively feature the NACS port starting in Q4 2024.
The U.S.-built 2025 Ioniq 5 models are poised to qualify for a $3,750 federal tax credit upon launch, with the potential for additional federal incentives in the future. Hyundai is committed to providing attractive lease offers that pass on a $7,500 credit to consumers.
“We are excited to expand the Ioniq 5 lineup with the XRT model, which reflects our commitment to meeting customer demands for versatility and performance,” stated José Muñoz, president and global COO of Hyundai Motor Company. “The Ioniq 5 N has set a new standard for excitement in the EV market, and we’re proud to continue building on that success.”
The Ioniq 5 XRT boasts unique features tailored for off-road adventures, including a dual motor system, a lifted suspension for enhanced ground clearance, and rugged all-terrain tires. Its exterior design incorporates a distinctive digital camouflage pattern, adding to its aggressive aesthetic.
The standard 2025 Ioniq 5 models receive numerous upgrades as well, including enhanced battery capacities, redesigned HVAC controls, and a new infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. The interior has been reconfigured for improved ergonomics, featuring physical buttons for commonly used functions and updated safety technologies like Blind-Spot Collision Warning and Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist.
With these enhancements, Hyundai aims to solidify the Ioniq 5’s reputation as “America’s Most Awarded EV Lineup,” appealing to both urban drivers and outdoor adventurers alike. The 2025 Ioniq 5 XRT is not just a vehicle; it’s an invitation to explore the great outdoors in electric style.
