Lamborghini Unveils the 907 HP Temerario: A Paradigm Shift in Super Sports Cars

Sant’Agata Bolognese/Monterey, California, August 16, 2024 — Lamborghini has once again pushed the boundaries of automotive innovation with the introduction of its newest super sports car, the Lamborghini Temerario. Revealed at the prestigious Monterey Car Week 2024, the Temerario stands as a testament to Lamborghini’s commitment to redefining performance, luxury, and sustainability in the world of super sports cars.

A Revolution in Powertrain Engineering

At the heart of the Temerario lies an engineering marvel: a twin-turbo V8 hybrid powertrain that delivers an astonishing 920 CV (907 HP), making it one of the most powerful and advanced engines ever produced by Lamborghini. This groundbreaking powertrain, developed entirely in Sant’Agata Bolognese, combines a newly designed 4.0-liter V8 engine with three electric motors, setting a new standard in the super sports car segment. Capable of revving up to an incredible 10,000 rpm, the V8 engine alone produces 800 CV, while the electric motors enhance acceleration, torque vectoring, and energy recuperation, resulting in a driving experience that is both exhilarating and refined.

Rouven Mohr, Lamborghini’s Chief Technical Officer, highlights the innovative approach behind the Temerario’s powertrain: “We wanted to develop an incomparable, high-performance sports engine that combines the best of two worlds: an emotional combustion engine based on a twin-turbocharged V8 and a performance-oriented electrification. With the Temerario, we are redefining the segment.”

Unmatched Performance and Comfort

The Temerario is not just about raw power; it is a masterclass in blending performance with comfort. With a top speed exceeding 340 km/h (210+ mph) and a 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) time of just 2.7 seconds, this supercar offers unparalleled speed and agility. Yet, despite its track-ready capabilities, the Temerario also promises an exceptional level of comfort, thanks to its innovative aluminum chassis and advanced suspension system.

The chassis, crafted from a high-strength, ultra-light alloy, significantly increases torsional rigidity, enhancing both driving dynamics and passenger comfort. The Temerario’s interior has been meticulously designed to offer more space and luxury than any other vehicle in its class, making it as suited to long road trips as it is to the racetrack.

A New Standard in Automotive Design

Lamborghini has always been synonymous with cutting-edge design, and the Temerario is no exception. The car’s bold, futuristic lines are the result of a clean-sheet design approach that reflects both the brand’s heritage and its vision for the future. The hexagonal daytime running lights, integrated aerodynamic elements, and the striking shark-nose front end all contribute to a look that is both iconic and innovative.

Mitja Borkert, Director of Design at Automobili Lamborghini, describes the design philosophy behind the Temerario: “The Lamborghini Temerario marks a new milestone in our design language. We call it ‘essential and iconic,’ with enhanced athleticism from its surfaces. From the first glance, this is a puristic, futuristic, and yet fascinating super sports car.”

Advanced Technology for the Ultimate Driving Experience

Inside the Temerario, Lamborghini has created a cockpit that fully embraces the brand’s “Feel like a pilot” philosophy. The low seating position, combined with a slim, lightweight dashboard and an array of advanced digital displays, ensures that the driver is always in full control. The Lamborghini Vision Unit system, a new addition to the Lamborghini lineup, offers an immersive multimedia experience that allows drivers to relive and share their driving experiences like never before.

The Temerario is also equipped with the most advanced connectivity suite in Lamborghini’s history, including a new Human-Machine Interface (HMI) system with three displays: a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, an 8.4-inch central screen, and a 9.1-inch passenger display. These screens, controlled by a single “electronic brain,” provide seamless interaction and customization options, ensuring that both the driver and passenger are fully engaged in the driving experience.

Aerodynamics and Lightweight Engineering

Aerodynamics play a crucial role in the Temerario’s performance. Lamborghini’s engineers have achieved remarkable results in terms of stability, cooling, and braking efficiency, with the car’s bodywork and underbody designed to maximize downforce and minimize drag. The optional Alleggerita package, available for those who prioritize track performance, reduces the car’s weight by over 25 kg through the use of carbon fiber and other lightweight materials, further enhancing its aerodynamic efficiency.

A Commitment to Sustainability

The Temerario is also a key milestone in Lamborghini’s journey towards sustainability. As part of the brand’s Direzione Cor Tauri plan, the Temerario is the second model in Lamborghini’s High Performance Electrified Vehicle (HPEV) range, following the Revuelto. The car’s hybrid powertrain significantly reduces CO2 emissions compared to previous models, without compromising on performance.

“The Temerario is a genuine ‘fuoriclasse’: a car in a league of its own, an extraordinary and innovative vehicle both from a technical and stylistic point of view,” says Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini. “With the Temerario, we have completed a key chapter in the electrification strategy included in our Direzione Cor Tauri plan.”

Personalization and Exclusivity

Lamborghini understands that its customers demand exclusivity, and the Temerario delivers on this front as well. The car is available in over 400 body colors and special liveries through Lamborghini’s Ad Personam program, offering nearly limitless customization possibilities. Additionally, the Temerario can be equipped with a wide range of carbon fiber elements, both inside and out, for those who want to further enhance the car’s performance and aesthetics.

The Lamborghini Temerario is more than just a new model; it represents the future of super sports cars. With its revolutionary hybrid powertrain, cutting-edge design, and advanced technology, the Temerario sets a new benchmark for performance, comfort, and sustainability in the automotive world. As Lamborghini continues to push the boundaries of what is possible, the Temerario stands as a bold statement of the brand’s vision for the future—a vision where power, luxury, and responsibility coexist in perfect harmony.
