Ankit Todi Takes the Helm as Mahindra Group’s Chief Sustainability Officer: Leading the Charge for a Greener Future

Mumbai, July 01, 2024 – In a strategic move underscoring its unwavering commitment to sustainability and leadership development, Mahindra Group has announced the appointment of Ankit Todi as the new Group Chief Sustainability Officer.

Since his arrival at Mahindra Group in 2022, Ankit Todi has been a pivotal force in the evolution of the company’s ‘Planet Positive’ sustainability strategy. Under his stewardship, the Group Sustainability CEO Council has flourished, and Mahindra’s engagement with global sustainability platforms such as the World Economic Forum, United Nations Global Compact, and the Sustainable Markets Initiative has been exemplary. His efforts have also strengthened Mahindra’s relationships with various domestic industry associations, enhancing the group’s influence and credibility in the sustainability arena.

Ankit will report directly to Abanti Sankaranarayanan, Group Public Affairs Officer, Mahindra Group, and Member of the Group Executive Board. Abanti praised Ankit’s promotion, highlighting it as a clear indication of Mahindra Group’s dedication to fostering leadership from within. “Ankit’s elevation is a testament to our commitment to nurturing a robust pipeline of future leaders. His ability to seamlessly integrate business strategies with sustainability initiatives has driven substantial outcomes. Ankit has played a crucial role in advancing sustainability roadmaps and actions across our diverse businesses, reinforcing Mahindra’s standing as a planet-positive business group,” Abanti stated.

Ankit Todi’s academic and professional background is as impressive as his achievements at Mahindra. He holds a Master’s degree in Information & Communication Technology and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. He is also a distinguished member of the ‘Mahindra Accelerated Leadership Track’ (MALT), an elite leadership development program conducted in collaboration with Carnegie Mellon University, aimed at cultivating high-potential talent within the organization. Before his tenure at Mahindra, Ankit spent seven fruitful years in management consulting at Bain & Company, where he honed his skills in strategic management and operational efficiency.

Beyond his corporate responsibilities, Ankit is deeply passionate about the clean-tech ecosystem. He actively collaborates with startups, driving innovation and introducing cutting-edge sustainable technologies to Mahindra Group’s companies. His proactive engagement with the startup ecosystem not only fosters innovation but also aligns with Mahindra’s broader goals of sustainability and environmental stewardship.

In his new role, Ankit Todi is expected to further accelerate Mahindra’s sustainability initiatives, ensuring that the group remains at the forefront of sustainable business practices.
