Bentley Unveils Launch Date for New Continental GT Speed

Bentley Sets Launch Date for Revolutionary Continental GT Speed

Crewe, 18 June 2024 – Bentley Motors has confirmed that the fourth-generation Continental GT Speed, the most powerful Bentley ever, will debut at 16:00 BST on Tuesday, 25 June.

The new Continental GT Speed boasts an impressive 782 PS and 1,000 Nm of torque, featuring an Ultra Performance Hybrid powertrain that includes a 50-mile (80 km) electric range and a WLTP CO2 figure of under 50 g/km. This latest iteration not only sets a new power benchmark for Bentley’s 105-year history but also underscores the brand’s commitment to sustainable luxury mobility as part of its Beyond100 initiative, aiming to introduce a plug-in drivetrain across all models.

In terms of performance, the Continental GT Speed is set to impress with a top speed of 208 mph (335 km/h). To demonstrate its capabilities, Bentley will reveal that the vehicle has achieved an unofficial “underwater speed record” by reaching its top speed in the Ryfylke Tunnel, the longest and deepest subsea road tunnel in the world. A film documenting this record-setting run will be released in conjunction with the vehicle’s launch.

The new model incorporates cutting-edge chassis technology, including active all-wheel drive with torque vectoring, four-wheel steering, an electronic Limited Slip Differential, 48V electric active anti-roll control, and advanced dual-valve dampers. These features combine to create Bentley’s most dynamic model to date, positioning the Continental GT Speed as the first “everyday supercar” in its segment. Alongside its high performance, the vehicle retains the handcrafted luxury and premium materials that Bentley is known for.

The Continental GT’s journey began in 2002, marking a renaissance for Bentley by significantly boosting sales and redefining the brand for modern consumers. The second generation was launched in 2010, introducing a W12 engine and later a 4.0-liter V8 option in 2012. The third generation, unveiled in 2018, brought a new platform, engine, suspension, electrical architecture, technology, and redesigned interiors and exteriors, setting new standards in the competitive luxury GT sector.

As Bentley prepares to launch this groundbreaking model, enthusiasts and industry watchers alike are eagerly anticipating how the new Continental GT Speed will further define the future of luxury performance vehicles.
