The refreshed 2025 Honda Civic, building on the success of its award-winning 11th-generation predecessor, introduces powerful hybrid trims, sportier styling, and improved technology. The new model features a more aggressive front fascia and grille, revised taillights, and four new exterior colors.
Hybrid Powertrain Revolution
For the first time, the Civic will be available with a hybrid powertrain, both in sedan and hatchback variants. The hybrid trims, delivering an anticipated 232 lb.-ft. of torque, mark the most powerful non-Type R Civics ever. The range-topping Sport Touring Hybrid trim introduces Google built-in for seamless connectivity on the go. Honda expects the hybrid models to represent about 40% of Civic sales, reflecting the company’s commitment to electrification. These models, featuring Honda’s acclaimed two-motor hybrid system, are projected to achieve nearly 50 mpg in combined fuel economy ratings.
Trim Levels and Availability
The 2025 Civic will come in four trim levels: LX (sedan only), Sport, Sport Hybrid, and Sport Touring Hybrid. The sedan is set to arrive at dealerships next month, with the hatchback following later in the summer. The new hybrid trims offer a driving experience enhanced by optimized spring and damper tuning, specific tire development, and four levels of regenerative braking deceleration.
Enhanced Design and Comfort
Every 2025 Civic boasts an enhanced exterior with a new aggressive front fascia and darker taillights. The hybrid models feature distinct body-colored headlamp garnish and front lower spoilers. Four new colors, including Solar Silver Metallic, Urban Gray Pearl, Blue Lagoon Pearl (exclusive to the sedan), and Sand Dune Pearl (exclusive to the hatchback), are added to the lineup.
The interior of the Civic also sees a refresh, with hybrid models available in a new gray interior color. The Sport Hybrid comes standard with a moonroof, heated front seats, and dual-zone climate control, while the Sport Touring Hybrid adds leather seating, a 12-speaker Bose audio system, a larger 9-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, and a wireless smartphone charger. All models now include front USB-C ports.
Integration of Google Built-In
The Sport Touring Hybrid introduces Civic’s first integration of Google built-in, offering Google Assistant, Google Maps, and more through Google Play. This feature allows for a personalized and connected driving experience, including a complimentary 3-year unlimited data plan.
Safety and Manufacturing
The 11th-generation Civic continues to be a safety leader with advanced active and passive safety features standard on all models. The Honda Sensing suite, which includes Collision Mitigation Braking System, Forward Collision Warning, Road Departure Mitigation, Lane Keeping Assist System, and Adaptive Cruise Control, is now complemented by Blind Spot and Rear Cross Traffic Alert on Sport models.
The Civic’s legacy of manufacturing excellence continues with production in North America. The sedan is produced in Alliston, Ontario, Canada, and the hatchback in Greensburg, Indiana. The hybrid power units are built at Honda Power Unit Operations facilities in Ohio.
The 2025 Honda Civic, with its powerful hybrid options, sporty design enhancements, and advanced technology, is set to maintain its status as a favorite among American car buyers.
