In a notable advancement for healthcare in rural Gujarat, Maruti Suzuki India Limited celebrates the one-year anniversary of the Cath Lab at Zydus Sitapur Hospital. Initiated as a part of Maruti Suzuki’s corporate social responsibility (CSR), this facility represents a crucial investment in community health with a setup cost of Rs. 5.6 crore and a total investment of Rs. 160 crore in the hospital.
This first-of-its-kind Cath Lab in Sitapur provides 24/7 advanced cardiac services to nearly 400 villages across 12 talukas, including Becharaji, Mandal, Mehsana, Patan, Viramgam, and surrounding areas. The 110-bed multi-specialty hospital, which opened its doors in 2021, offers a comprehensive range of services from general medicine to specialized care like orthopedics and nephrology.
Rahul Bharti, Executive Officer – Corporate Affairs at Maruti Suzuki, highlighted the impact of the Cath Lab, stating that it has made significant health services accessible to a previously underserved population, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goal 3 of promoting well-being for all. The hospital also supports economically disadvantaged patients through India’s Ayushman Bharat health scheme, having treated 240 heart patients from low-income backgrounds in its first year.
With its commitment to quality, Zydus Sitapur Hospital has not only been accredited by NABH but also received a gold quality certification from the Quality Council of India, marking its status as a beacon of superior healthcare in the region.
