New Delhi – Punjab National Bank (PNB), India’s stalwart public sector bank, has found a new way to ‘drive’ business – by officially partnering with Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) to turbocharge dealer financing solutions. In an industry where liquidity is king and showroom floors must sparkle with fresh stock, PNB’s latest MoU promises to give dealers the horsepower they need, minus the financial potholes.
Under the pact, PNB will provide credit facilities of up to ₹25 crore through digital channels, ensuring dealers don’t just get loans but get them faster than a Swift taking a corner. On top of that, Cash Management System (CMS) services will keep Maruti Suzuki’s cash flow as smooth as its Baleno’s suspension.
The MoU signing saw PNB’s MD & CEO, Ashok Chandra, and Maruti Suzuki’s top brass — Shri Partho Banerjee, Shri Tsuyoshi Takeshita, and Shri Vishal Sharma — come together, proving once again that the real magic happens when finance meets four wheels.
“PNB is committed to fueling India’s automotive sector,” said Chandra. “Our funding products are tailored to give dealers more liquidity and faster approvals. We don’t just provide loans; we provide momentum.”
On the other side of the table, Partho Banerjee from Maruti Suzuki added, “Dealers are our backbone, and this partnership ensures they won’t feel any financial backache when the market accelerates. Together with PNB, we are shifting the ecosystem into a higher gear.”
Why This Matters
- For Dealers: More cars on the lot, less time chasing paperwork.
- For PNB: A chance to prove that banking can be as customer-friendly as a Maruti service station.
- For Customers: Greater availability of cars and smoother buying experiences (though PNB financing won’t cover bargaining for extra mats and mudflaps).
With EVs on the rise and car sales hitting record highs, this collaboration is more than a MoU — it’s a pitstop strategy for India’s mobility marathon.
Or as one witty dealer in Delhi quipped, “Now with PNB and Maruti together, even our bank loans will run like a WagonR — reliable, compact, and everywhere.”
