Nexon Camo Limited Edition Launched With ADAS, 360-Degree Camera and Petrol, Diesel, CNG Options

Tata Motors has introduced the Nexon Camo Limited Edition, priced from ₹9.99 lakh for the Creative Camo variant, marking nine years of the compact SUV and more than 1.1 million customer journeys, according to the company. The limited-run version adds two exclusive exterior colours, Camo-specific styling details, a new twin-screen digital cockpit and an integrated dashcam while retaining the Nexon’s petrol, diesel and CNG powertrain choices.

The special edition is offered in two new colours — Munnar Mist and Coorg Cloud — accompanied by signature Camo fender badging and Camo-themed perforation on the front-seat headrests.

Tata Motors has not disclosed how many units of the Nexon Camo will be produced, saying only that the model will be available for a limited period.

One of the most significant additions is what Tata calls the All-New Ultra View Twin HD Digital Cockpit, comprising a 12.3-inch Harman infotainment touchscreen and a 10.25-inch Harman digital instrument cluster with embedded navigation.

The Camo edition also introduces an integrated dashcam recorder linked with the 360-degree camera system. The dashcam supports impact-event recording, storage of up to 256 GB and smartphone video transfer.

At its ₹9.99 lakh starting price, the Nexon Creative Camo includes a 360-degree HD Surround View System, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 16-inch alloy wheels, push-button start, six airbags, LED headlamps and daytime running lights, automatic-folding ORVMs, fully automatic temperature control, a height-adjustable driver’s seat, front armrest and shark-fin antenna.

Automatic versions additionally receive an E-Shifter and paddle shifters.

ADAS and premium equipment offered

Higher-equipped versions of the Nexon Camo can be specified with an Advanced Driver Assistance System featuring seven functions: Front Collision Warning, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Centring System, Traffic Sign Recognition, Lane Departure Warning, High Beam Assist and Lane Keep Assist.

Other available equipment includes a 360-degree camera with Blind View Monitor, voice-assisted panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, Benecke Kaliko leatherette upholstery and a nine-speaker JBL audio system with subwoofer.

An auto-dimming inside rear-view mirror, wireless smartphone charger and connected-car functions are also part of the broader equipment package. The connected technology supports remote vehicle controls, vehicle-health information, location tracking and real-time alerts.

It is a sizeable list for a compact SUV, although buyers may need to pay close attention to the variant chart — modern car brochures increasingly require almost as much navigation as the infotainment systems themselves.

Petrol, diesel and CNG engines continue

Mechanically, the Camo edition retains the Nexon’s existing range of turbocharged powertrains.

The 1.2-litre Revotron turbo-petrol engine produces 120 PS and 170 Nm, while the 1.5-litre Revotorq turbo-diesel develops 114.5 PS and 260 Nm.

The Nexon is also available with Tata’s turbocharged CNG powertrain, producing 100 PS and 170 Nm. Tata Motors says it is the only turbo-CNG SUV in its segment.

Its iCNG twin-cylinder technology is claimed to deliver fuel economy of 24.01 km/kg while retaining 321 litres of boot capacity. Tata says the system can also start directly on CNG without depending on petrol for cranking and allows smooth switching between the two fuels.

The availability of petrol, diesel and CNG options remains one of the Nexon’s broader differentiators at a time when manufacturers are taking increasingly varied approaches to powertrains in India’s compact-SUV market.

Five-star Bharat NCAP rating

On the safety front, the Nexon carries a five-star Bharat NCAP rating, according to Tata Motors.

Standard and available safety equipment across the relevant variants includes six airbags, Electronic Stability Program, E-Call and B-Call emergency assistance, the 360-degree surround-view camera and the seven-function ADAS package.

The additional driver-assistance technology expands the Nexon’s safety offering beyond conventional passive equipment, although such systems are intended to assist rather than replace an attentive driver.

Camo name returns to Nexon line-up

The Camo edition builds on Tata Motors’ previous use of camouflage-inspired special editions and is being positioned as a more distinctive derivative of the regular Nexon rather than a separate mechanical model.

Its exterior changes are deliberately restrained: the two special paint finishes and Camo branding provide most of the visual differentiation, while the bigger changes are concentrated inside the cabin through the enlarged displays, dashcam and additional technology.

Tata Motors describes the edition as being inspired by camouflage’s ability to “blend seamlessly with nature while thriving across every terrain,” although the Munnar Mist and Coorg Cloud paintwork is likely to spend rather more time negotiating office car parks and city traffic than hiding in the wilderness.

The Nexon Camo arrives as Tata Motors marks nine years of the Nexon, with the company saying the model has accumulated more than 1.1 million customer journeys.

Rather than dramatically altering the Nexon’s mechanical formula, the Camo edition packages additional technology, safety equipment and cosmetic differentiation around an established compact-SUV platform. With prices beginning at ₹9.99 lakh and three fuel choices available, its significance lies less in camouflage and more in how aggressively equipment is continuing to spread through India’s increasingly competitive compact-SUV market.
