Bangalore: Toyota Kirloskar Motor has hit a major milestone in India’s premium MPV space, announcing cumulative sales of over 2 lakh units of the Toyota Innova HyCross. In a market where SUVs usually steal the spotlight, this family mover has calmly—and rather efficiently—driven its way into the hearts (and garages) of Indian buyers.
Launched in November 2022, the Innova HyCross has steadily built momentum, combining Toyota’s legendary Quality, Durability and Reliability (QDR) philosophy with a modern design and advanced hybrid technology. The result? A vehicle that comfortably juggles school runs, highway trips, and corporate commutes—often in near silence thanks to its electrified drivetrain.
Built on the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform, the HyCross is powered by a 5th Generation self-charging strong hybrid system. Its 2.0-litre petrol engine paired with an electric motor produces a combined 137 kW (186 PS), while cleverly allowing the MPV to run in EV mode up to 60% of the time—which means fewer fuel stops and more smug smiles at the fuel station.
For those who prefer sticking to conventional petrol power, Toyota also offers a 2.0-litre gasoline variant producing 129 kW (174 PS), ensuring that there’s something for both the eco-conscious and the traditionally inclined driver.
Priced from ₹19.53 lakh (ex-showroom), the Innova HyCross strengthens its premium positioning with an 8-year hybrid battery warranty (on select variants) and a 5-star safety rating under Bharat NCAP—a combination that reassures both the head and the heart.
Inside, the HyCross leans heavily into comfort and tech. Features such as powered Ottoman second-row seats, ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, and a powered tailgate elevate the cabin experience. Add to that Toyota Safety Sense—a suite of advanced driver assistance systems—and over 65 connected features, and you have an MPV that feels more like a lounge on wheels than a traditional people mover.
Commenting on the achievement, Sabari Manohar, Executive Vice President at Toyota Kirloskar Motor, noted that crossing the 2-lakh mark reflects strong customer trust in both the brand and its hybrid technology. He emphasized that the milestone reinforces Toyota’s commitment to delivering future-ready mobility solutions aligned with evolving customer expectations.
Beyond the product itself, Toyota’s T Care ecosystem—covering everything from purchase to after-sales and resale—adds another layer of ownership convenience, ensuring that the HyCross experience extends well beyond the showroom.
With this milestone, the Innova HyCross firmly cements its place in India’s premium MPV segment. In a country rapidly exploring greener mobility options, it offers a practical middle ground—no charging cables required, just a smooth, efficient drive.
And if sales figures are anything to go by, India seems perfectly happy letting this hybrid MPV do the talking—quietly, of course.
