Škoda Kylaq Turns One, Crosses 50,000 Sales — Gets More Variants, More Features, and a Bigger Birthday Cake

Mumbai: After clocking its most successful year ever in 2025, Škoda Auto India is clearly not in the mood to slow down. As part of its silver jubilee celebrations in India, the Czech automaker’s sub-4m SUV — the Kylaq — has completed one year on Indian roads and celebrated the occasion in true Škoda style: by selling over 50,000 units and getting even more feature-rich.

In automotive terms, that’s not just a birthday — that’s a proper sales anniversary bash with confetti, cake, and a torque converter.

From Rising Star to Sales Superstar

Since its launch, the Kylaq has quietly (and now not-so-quietly) become one of the strongest pillars of Škoda’s India growth story. With 50,000+ customers already on board, the Kylaq has played a major role in Škoda Auto India’s best-ever annual sales performance, especially in the fiercely competitive sub-4m SUV segment.

Its formula has been simple yet effective: European driving dynamics, solid safety credentials, and a feature list that keeps expanding faster than Indian wedding guest lists.

Variant Party: Now 6 Trims, 11 Price Points

To mark the milestone, Škoda has expanded the Kylaq range from four to six variants, now spread across 11 price points — ensuring there’s a Kylaq for every budget, mood, and EMI plan.

What’s new?

  • Classic+ (New): Positioned between Classic and Signature
  • Prestige+ (New): Now sits proudly at the very top
  • Signature & Signature+ get major feature upgrades

In short, the Kylaq lineup has gone from “nice and simple” to “buffet menu with extra desserts”.

The Big Headline: Most Affordable ‘Real Automatic’

The new Classic+ variant is the real crowd-puller. Why?

Because it becomes the most accessible car in its segment with a full-fledged torque converter automatic — not an AMT, not a CVT compromise, but the real smooth-shifting deal.

And it doesn’t come empty-handed either. Standard features now include:

  • Electric sunroof
  • Cruise control
  • Auto IRVM
  • Rain-sensing wipers
  • LED headlamps & DRLs
  • Multi-function steering wheel

Basically, it’s the kind of base-plus variant that makes you wonder why “base” variants even exist anymore.

Feature Democratisation (Škoda’s Favourite Word, Clearly)

Listening to customer demand, Škoda has also upgraded the mid and higher trims:

  • Signature & Signature+ now get:
    • Electric sunroof
    • Paddle shifters (for automatics)
    • Rear wiper & washer
    • LED reading lamps
  • Prestige line now split into:
    • Prestige
    • Prestige+ (new top dog)

More choice, more tech, and more reasons to spend extra on the top variant — classic carmaker strategy, executed politely.

Still the Safety Nerd of the Segment

The Kylaq continues to flex where it matters most: safety.

  • Highest-rated ICE car in its segment in Bharat NCAP
  • 6 airbags standard across all variants
  • Over 25 safety features standard, 40+ on higher trims
  • 4-year standard warranty
  • 4 years roadside assistance
  • 4 labour-free services

In simple words: Kylaq is the kind of car that looks after you even more than your parents.

Anniversary Offers: Because Birthdays Mean Discounts

To sweeten the celebration, Škoda has rolled out limited-period anniversary offers till 28 February 2026:

  • Benefits up to ₹50,000 on select variants
  • 50% off on 1-year Škoda Maintenance Package
  • Assured gift for every Kylaq buyer

Basically, buy a Kylaq and you don’t just get a car — you also get presents. Indian festivals could learn a thing or two.

What Škoda Says

Ashish Gupta, Brand Director, Škoda Auto India, summed it up neatly:

“Crossing the 50,000 sales milestone is truly humbling and reflects the growing trust in the Škoda brand. With customer-led enhancements and making the Kylaq the most accessible vehicle with a real automatic, we continue to democratise European technology for Indian roads.”

Kylaq Is No Longer the New Kid

In just one year, the Škoda Kylaq has gone from new entrant to segment heavyweight — with more variants, more tech, and one of the strongest safety packages in its class.

And if this is what Škoda does at one year, imagine what the second birthday will look like. Maybe ADAS, maybe hybrids… or maybe just a bigger cake 🍰.
