All-New MG Hector Arrives with a Fresh Face, Smarter Tech and a Starting Price of ₹11.99 Lakh

Gurugram: JSW MG Motor India has officially pulled the covers off the All-New MG Hector, giving India’s popular internet-savvy SUV a bold makeover, sharper technology and added comfort—while keeping its pricing grounded, starting at ₹11.99 lakh (ex-showroom). In short, the Hector has gone to the gym, learnt some new digital tricks, and returned looking rather confident about it.

From the outside, the updates are hard to miss. The new Aura Hex Grille, with its bold hexagonal pattern, gives the Hector a more assertive face—one that clearly means business at traffic signals. Complementing this are the redesigned Aura Sculpt front and rear bumpers, which add muscle without shouting for attention. The SUV also rolls on new Aura Bolt alloy wheels, designed to look powerful even when parked, which is important in India where half the admiration happens before the engine is even started. Two fresh colours—Celadon Blue and Pearl White—join the palette, ensuring the Hector turns heads whether it’s parked outside a café or cruising down the highway.

Step inside, and MG has clearly spent time refining the Hector’s comfort quotient. The cabin now offers two new interior themes: Dual Tone Ice Grey for the 5-seater variant, lending it a clean, tech-forward vibe, and Dual Tone Urban Tan for the 6- and 7-seater versions, aimed at buyers who like their SUVs to feel a bit more lounge-like. Hydra Gloss finish accents add depth and durability, while features such as ventilated front seats, a 6-way power-adjustable driver seat, tilt and telescopic steering, and leather-finished touchpoints elevate the overall experience without making it feel overdone.

Technology remains the Hector’s strongest calling card. The large 14-inch HD portrait touchscreen—already a familiar sight—now gets Smart Boost technology, making the interface faster and smoother. But the real conversation starter is the first-in-segment i-SWIPE Touch Gesture Control, which allows drivers to operate functions like AC, music and navigation using two- and three-finger swipe gestures. It’s essentially smartphone behaviour, now politely transplanted into your SUV. Add to this features like a Digital Bluetooth Key, key sharing, predictive maintenance alerts and remote AC control, and the Hector feels less like a car and more like a well-behaved gadget on wheels.

Commenting on the launch, Anurag Mehrotra, Managing Director, JSW MG Motor India, said the Hector’s journey has been special for the brand. Since its debut, over 1.5 lakh customers have chosen the Hector, making it one of MG’s most successful nameplates in India. With the all-new version, MG aims to build on that legacy by offering enhanced design, comfort and technology, while continuing its philosophy of making advanced mobility accessible rather than exclusive.

Safety and convenience have also received a meaningful upgrade. The 360-degree HD camera with wheel view makes tight parking less stressful, offering a clear perspective right down to the tyres—something urban drivers will appreciate daily. Standard safety features include ABS, EBD, ESP, traction control, hill hold and brake assist. Powering the SUV is the familiar 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine, producing 143 PS and 250 Nm, available with both manual and CVT options, delivering a balance of performance and everyday drivability.

True to its roots as India’s first internet car, the Hector continues to offer a long list of features such as a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, MG’s i-SMART connected tech with over 70 features, ADAS, powered tailgate, air purifier with PM 2.5 filter, rain-sensing wipers and remote functions via the smartphone app. The aim is clear: keep the Hector future-ready without making it feel complicated.

MG has also sweetened the ownership experience with 100% on-road price funding options, financing support for accessories, and the MG SHIELD ownership program. The standard 3+3+3 package includes three years of unlimited-kilometre warranty, roadside assistance and labour-free services, ensuring peace of mind long after the novelty of the new grille has worn off.

With sharper looks, smarter tech and a price that still plays nicely with the segment, the All-New MG Hector proves that evolution doesn’t always mean starting from scratch—sometimes, it just means listening closely to what customers want and adding a little extra polish… and maybe a few swipe gestures along the way.
