Gurugram: In a move that’s part strategy and part spark, JSW MG Motor India has joined hands with Confident Group, a leading real estate developer, and IONAGE Technologies, an EV charging tech innovator, to supercharge India’s residential landscapes. Under the MG Charge initiative, this power trio is making EV charging as commonplace as water tanks and Wi-Fi.
The automaker has already rolled out 800 chargers across the country, and is now gearing up to hit 1,000 chargers in 1,000 days — a milestone that sounds like it belongs in both an engineering blueprint and a superhero origin story.
Through this partnership, charging stations are being integrated into bustling urban communities, starting with nine Confident Group properties in Kerala, so that residents can juice up their EVs without leaving their parking lots.
⚡ Tech Meets Terrace: IONAGE’s Digital Muscle
IONAGE Technologies is giving residents a seamless digital experience — think “charge at home, but smarter.” From effortless slot booking to real-time monitoring, their platform ensures EV owners can power up without power struggles.
“Our collaboration with JSW MG Motor aims to unlock hassle-free home charging at scale. With our state-of-the-art platform and MG’s commitment to electric mobility, we’re making it simple for residents to adopt EVs,” said Vimal Kumar V, CEO of IONAGE Technologies, while probably standing next to a charging cable that’s smarter than most gadgets.
🏗️ Builders Go Green (and Electric)
For Confident Group, this is less of a real estate deal and more of a lifestyle upgrade. “At Confident Group, we are committed to integrating sustainable solutions within our communities,” said Joseph TA, Managing Partner. “The enthusiastic feedback from homeowners underscores the impact of this initiative.”
Translation: People are thrilled they no longer have to hunt for public chargers or negotiate with the watchman for an extension cord.
According to Anurag Mehrotra, Managing Director of JSW MG Motor India, this collaboration is a “significant leap towards making sustainable mobility the norm”. By embedding EV charging into residential projects like Confident Lotus and Confident Aquila, the trio is effectively future-proofing homes for a generation that might treat petrol stations like relics of the past.
