Hyundai’s ‘Samarth’ Initiative Gives 80 People a Motorized Boost in Uttar Pradesh

Ghaziabad — Forget horsepower. Today, it was all about people power… on motorized wheels. Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF), the CSR arm of Hyundai Motor India Limited, revved up its inclusivity mission by distributing 80 advanced motorized wheelchairs to persons with disabilities across Ghaziabad and Meerut under its flagship initiative, ‘Samarth by Hyundai’.

Each wheelchair comes with a 15 km driving range, enough for a morning errand, an evening outing, and maybe even a quick joyride—because who said mobility aids can’t be fun? The initiative aims to give beneficiaries not just movement, but independence with a side of dignity.

👑 Dignitaries, Declarations & Determination

The handover ceremony saw an impressive lineup — Shri. Laxmikant Bajpai, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, joined hands (and wheels) with Hyundai’s leadership including Mr. Jeongick Lee and Mr. Puneet Anand, AVP & Vertical Head – Corporate Affairs, Corporate Communication & Social, HMIL.

Addressing the gathering, Anand highlighted,

“True progress is about empowering every individual to reach their full potential. These wheelchairs aren’t just devices — they’re vehicles of independence.”

Think of it as Hyundai’s take on “Progress for Humanity” — but instead of SUVs, it’s smooth, silent wheelchairs with real-world impact.

🧭 Community Impact Beyond the Highway

Hyundai Motor India Foundation currently runs CSR programs worth ₹11 crore in Uttar Pradesh, with strong focus on healthcare and education. With this initiative, it adds mobility empowerment to its mission checklist.

Shri. Laxmikant Bajpai lauded the program, noting,

“Mobility is a basic need, and these advanced wheelchairs will greatly improve lives in Ghaziabad and Meerut. This thoughtful effort brings real, positive change to the community.”

Hyundai’s CSR vision isn’t just about clean engines and new tech. It’s about making mobility a right, not a privilege. And in Uttar Pradesh, 80 individuals are now cruising towards a more independent tomorrow — motorized, modern, and meaningful.
