Gurugram:
CARS24, India’s leading autotech platform (and unofficial therapist for cars whose owners have moved on), has announced the elevation of Shivanshu Makkar as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for its India business.
Makkar now takes charge of the company’s financial strategy, ensuring that every rupee is both well-spent and well-accounted for—kind of like convincing Indian parents that “buying another SUV is an investment.” His new role includes fiscal efficiency, risk management, compliance, and, most importantly, ensuring the company doesn’t treat “capital allocation” like a Diwali card game.

The Road So Far
Shivanshu’s four-year journey at CARS24 has been nothing short of a multi-variant test drive. Starting out in the CEO’s Office, he worked on scaling initiatives before shifting gears into Retail Business, where he went from Director to Associate Vice President. Along the way, he has handled growth, P&L, customer experience, and operations—basically, if CARS24 was a car, Shivanshu has already checked the brakes, topped the fluids, and taken it on the highway.
Voices From the Driver’s Seat
Himanshu Ratnoo, CEO – India, commented:
“Shivanshu brings a rare combination of financial acumen and business depth. He has consistently turned speed bumps into speed boosters. As CFO, his mix of visionary thinking and disciplined execution will strengthen our foundation and accelerate our mission of making car ownership effortless.”
On his new role, Shivanshu himself quipped:
“CARS24 has always believed in moving fast. My focus is to bring financial discipline without hitting the brakes on innovation. It’s about aggressive growth, but the sustainable kind—because nobody likes running out of fuel halfway.”
The Credentials
A Chartered Accountant and MBA, Shivanshu is an alumnus of SRCC and IIM Ahmedabad. Before joining CARS24, he spent nearly five years at McKinsey & Company, advising global clients on growth strategy, operations, and financial transformation. Translation: he’s already dealt with problems bigger than reconciling your Ola bills.
What’s Next?
With this elevation, Shivanshu Makkar steps into the driver’s seat of CARS24’s financial engine. If past performance is anything to go by, expect the ride to be fast, fuel-efficient, and surprisingly well-budgeted.
