Hyundai Motor India Limited Hits New Heights with Record July Sales, Led by Creta’s Stellar Performance

Record-Breaking Month for Hyundai CRETA Among Key Highlights

Gurugram, August 1, 2024 — Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has reported remarkable sales figures for July 2024, underscoring its position as a dominant player in the Indian automotive market. The company registered total sales of 64,563 units, comprising 49,013 domestic units and 15,550 exports. This performance contributes to a cumulative total of 450,335 units sold from January to July 2024, reflecting a year-on-year growth of 4.31%.

A significant driver of this growth has been the impressive performance of Hyundai’s SUV segment, which continues to capture the market’s attention. In the calendar year 2024, SUVs accounted for a substantial 66.6% of HMIL’s domestic sales, a testament to the growing preference for these versatile vehicles among Indian consumers.

Leading the charge is the new Hyundai Creta, which has quickly become a standout success since its launch in January 2024. The model achieved a milestone of 100,000 units sold by July, underscoring its popularity and strong market acceptance. Notably, the Creta also recorded its highest-ever monthly domestic sales figure in July 2024, with an impressive 17,350 units sold.

Tarun Garg, Whole-time Director and Chief Operating Officer of HMIL, expressed his satisfaction with the company’s robust performance. “We have posted an overall sales growth of 4.31% year-on-year for the period from January to July 2024. SUVs continue to demonstrate a robust contribution, accounting for 66.6% of total HMIL domestic sales. The new Hyundai Creta has been a key driver of our success, achieving significant milestones and setting new records for monthly sales.”

HMIL’s strategy to focus on SUVs and continually innovate with new models like the Creta has evidently paid off, positioning the company for sustained growth in the competitive automotive market. As consumer preferences evolve and the demand for SUVs rises, Hyundai Motor India Limited is well-placed to meet these expectations and further strengthen its market presence.

With these stellar results, HMIL is set to continue its upward trajectory, leveraging its strong product lineup and strategic market initiatives. The future looks promising for Hyundai in India as it builds on this momentum and works towards achieving even greater milestones in the coming months.
