Electrification to merge performance and environmental sustainability
The new Jeep Compass MY24 is available with two hybrid powertrains: e-Hybrid and 4xe plug-in hybrid. The e-hybrid powertrain manages the propulsion system between full electric, hybrid and internal combustion engines in an automatic way, according to the 48V battery state of charge, driving conditions and other parameters monitored in real time. The Jeep e-Hybrid is able to deliver full electric propulsion at launch, at low speeds, when cruising and in parking maneuvers. This solution is designed to auto-recharge the 48V battery: it automatically recovers energy while breaking or decelerating. This means freedom from external recharge, nevertheless being capable of EV propulsion. The second utilizes both the electric and endothermic engines, where the increased torque generated by the electric propulsion system and the ability to adjust it with extreme precision ensures even greater four-wheel-drive capability on any terrain, for challenging off-road adventures. Simultaneously, it is the ideal vehicle for everyday driving in the city as, thanks to the plug-in hybrid electric technology, CO2 emissions are lower than 50 g/km in hybrid mode and the cost of ownership is reduced.
Significant technological advancements have been achieved, including the integration of TBM service on e-Hybrid models. This feature ensures that the vehicle remains connected and facilitates the driver in their daily life through an efficient infotainment system. Additionally, the autonomous driving level 2 has been improved and now provides Jeep safety on all types of roads. The introduction of innovative Class A+ tires, 18″ and 19″ in size, has improved the vehicle’s road-holding capability and reduced CO2 emissions.
Legendary off-road capability
Jeep reinvented the 4×4 with the 4xe system. Its legendary off-road capabilities are now combined with the plug-in hybrid system, and with the Selec-Terrain system offering up to four modes for optimal four-wheel-drive performance in any weather conditions: Auto, Snow, Sand/Mud and Sport modes come as standard on all 4xe models, with an exclusive rock mode only accessible on Trailhawk. This model cements its position at the forefront of the lineup, thanks to the standard inclusion of the Jeep Active Drive Low 4×4 system with a class-leading 20:1 ratio. It also boasts incredibly efficient features, skid plates, aggressive off-road tires, Jeep signature red rear tow hooks, 30.4-degree approach angle, 23.7-degree breakover angle and 33.3-degree departure angle, as well as Hill-descent Control and the ability to tow up to 483 mm of water and up to 1,750 kg.
