The sedan is full of tech as Audis generally are, and poses a stiff competition to its German counterparts- the BMW 3 series and the Mercedes C-class.
The A4 sedan has been updated for the 2021 model year, the popular car from Audi has been one of their highest selling models around the world and in India. There have been some cosmetic changes and feature additions, that make the car a lucrative purchase for anyone looking for a proper German sedan. The Audi A4 competes with the BMW 3 Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Volvo S60 and other cars in this segment.
Let’s start with the new look, the A4 looks much sharper now with a more pronounced grille with chrome inlay flanked by aggressive new LED DRLs which are in the signature Audi ripple style. The rear has bigger and shaper taillamps, the headlamps are also LED. The front and the rear bumpers have also been tweaked to give the car a sportier look compared to the previous generation, this cosmetic update is major and pits it properly against its rivals.
On the powertrain front, the car has a 2 litre TFSI unit that makes 190 horsepower which is an upgrade compared to the last engine which made just 150 hp. This engine can propel the car to a hundred in 7.3 seconds and is mated to a 7-speed S-Tronic transmission which drives the front wheels. Despite being a FWD car it has been known to handle properly like a sporty sedan, which is attributed to the German engineers fitting it with a lot of clever electronics and mechanical features.
The inside gets major updates, especially on the screen front- all one sees is screens inside the cabin. The large 10.4 inch infotainment screen is a treat to the eyes, but unlike its elder siblings like the A6 and the A8 it does not get a touch panel for the controls, but physical buttons that may appeal to some individuals tastes. The AC vents are integrated inside a continuous running strip, which makes the virtually invisible, the instrument panel is also digital. There is multi-zone climate control, ambient and reading lights which are sensor controlled and a very comfortable cabin.
The new A4 comes after the previous one was discontinued because of BS6 Emission norms, and this one has proper updates to it. The car comes in two variants, Premium Plus and Technology with prices ranging from INR 51 Lakhs to 57 lakhs, with a INR 2 Lakhs booking amount.
