Several high performance vehicles, from Ferraris to McLarens to BMWs and Porsches participated in the drag race.
The fast performance vehicles in India are few, and occasions where the fastest cars of Delhi all gather together is a rarity. But Launch Control India which is an organiser of drag races in the country and one such event was held in Delhi recently at the Buddh International Circuit and the choices of vehicles which showed up was like nothing else you will ever spot in India. From Ferraris to Lamborghinis, Mercedes-AMGs to BMW M and a lot of other performance vehicles.
The event was held at the Buddh International Circuit and Launch Control partnered with Evo India and had entrants from Delhi and other places too, every owner itching to test their machines against others. The event was marketed as equalizing around 20000 total combined horsepower of all the participating vehicles.
The participating vehicles are one of the top performance vehicles in the world, the Ferrari 488 Pista takes the centre stage here in the photograph, the Prancing horse is the track version of the 488 with the iconic 3.9 litre V8 making 710 hp and here seen its signature Rosso red and central decals. The Porsche 911 seen is the extreme GT2 RS version which is the most powerful 911 ever made with the 3.8 litre twin-turbo I6 making 691 hp and fitted with four wheel steering and the most capable track vehicle from Porsche which also set the record for the Nurburgring for a time. Also seen are the 911s smaller siblings, the Cayman and the Boxter.
There is also a McLaren 570S, a very rare vehicle as McLaren does not sell in India and this one is in a brilliant bright blue, the car is powered by a 3.8 litre V8 that makes 562 hp and is one of the finest sports cars that is now sold as the 600LT with more power and performance. Also present are a couple of Lamborghini Huracans and a Urus as well, the Audi R8 in its first gen as well as the latest gen can also be seen, the car shares a lot of its parts like the engine.
The Aston Martin Vantage has a turbocharged V8 and is one of the truest Grand Touring sports vehicles in the world, the newly launched Aston Martin DBX which is the latest entrant in the Super Luxury SUV segment- it has a 542 hp engine and quintessential British style luxurious interiors and rivals the Lamborghini Urus and Bentley Bentayga. Besides these, there are a number of Mercedes AMG models like the E 63 AMG, G 63 AMG, C 43 S and BMW M cars like that M2 and M4, Jaguar XK RS and a Skoda Octavia RS as well.
