YOKOHAMA, Japan– With an intention to launch a new generation of the legendary Z sports car, Nissan recently unveiled the Z, Proto. The prototype car features a new design inside and out, as well as a V-6 twin-turbocharged engine with a manual transmission as the group, launched its Z Proto virtually around the world from its Pavilion in Yokohama.
Z Proto is among the top 10 new vehicles that Nissan group is highlighting in the U.S for a time period of 20 months, along with Sentra, Rogue and Ariya crossover.
“The Z represents the joy of driving in its purest form and has helped shape Nissan’s DNA as a passionate, innovative challenger,” said Nissan CEO Makoto Uchida. “Ever since the first generation, it has captured the hearts of car enthusiasts all over the world. That’s why we’re so excited today to be able to say to them: Yes, the next one is coming!”
The exterior of Z Proto
The beautiful Z Proto has bright yellow pearlescent paint (it is a tribute to a popular paint scheme on both the first-generation 240Z and the 300ZX) The model looks fresh, attractive with exterior designs that communicate respect to the original model.
The new Z Proto has many similarities with the original Z with the shape of the hood and the canted, teardrop-shaped LED headlights are both same in the old version and in new. The rectangular grille dimensions are the same as the new model, although the grille fins nod to the earlier model. The Z Proto offers striking road presence with 19-inch alloy wheels.
The interior of Z Proto
The cabin of Z Proto is seamlessly designed that blends modern technology with a vintage Z touch. The 12.3-inch digital meter display gives all the important information so that the driver grasps it at a glance. The new steering wheel offers the driver fast access controls without losing its vintage visual. The cabin is yellow-coloured with stitching on the instrument panel.
Z Proto gives sports car joy
To bring the joy and excitement of sports car ownership to as many people as possible, the original Z car was built. “The Z has always been a strong dynamic performer, making it easy for customers to enjoy its capabilities and feel as connected as possible to the car,” said Hiroshi Tamura, chief product specialist of the Z Proto. “This has been true through all its generations, and this is what drives our passion to innovate and challenge the norm.”
Though the Z is about more than power increases that is why each generation of it a more powerful engine had.
