Rob Whitworth, the BAFTA award winning director has collaborated with Jaguar to create one of the most innovative launch films in the company’s history. The launch film starring Jaguar’s new F-PACE and made with the flow motion technique is the first of its kind, and has never before been used by an automobile brand. This artistic collaboration proved fruitful for both the parties as Whitworth got an opportunity to express his artistic intellect while the world class brand assisted in the creation of a film true to their ideals and company motto. The ambitious project was shot on three different locations in San Francisco, Lake Tahoe and London, an ideal basis for an SUV launch that would take place globally. This concerted effort has also come as a welcome sight for a graduate of the BFI (British Film Academy) and a young aspiring filmmaker Angelica Gayle, who got a chance to work with the veteran director Rob Whitworth.
The new Jaguar F-PACE gained much attention after the success of its winning performance at the 2017 World Car Awards and taking home the titles of ‘World Car of the Year’ and ‘World Car Design of the Year’, it has now been enhanced with an expensive all-new interior and an improved dynamic exterior. Rob Whitworth, British director and acclaimed photographer who won Best Photography (Factual) BAFTA in 2017 envisioned the F-PACE to be introduced using the flow motion style. This technique created the effect of surpassing the limits of time and space with its constant visual stream and created a piece of true cinematic art for the globally renowned car brand. The illuminating graphic experience is created by a flow of time lapse photography which tests the confines on what form of art can take shape from a bunch of images or photographs. Rob’s flow motion films have gained millions of views on YouTube from people who appreciate good filmmaking.
The film is the first instance that an automotive brand has dabbled with the creative aspects of flow motion filmmaking. Shot on three different sites, it displays the dynamic and flexible nature of the F-PACE. By creating an expressive outlet for the director as well as an insightful opportunity for a BFI graduate of re-introducing their brand to all people young and old, Jaguar has skilfully provided exposure to this new and better SUV. Along with new interiors and exteriors, the F-PACE comes fitted with the latest Pivi Pro infotainment system as well as a selection of in-line four and six cylinder engines with PHEV and MHEV technologies. With the new F-PACE, Jaguar has perfected the already impeccable SUV and its introductory flow motion film has only cemented its position as an efficient vehicle in the eyes of the people.
